We had the good fortune of connecting with Frankie Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Frankie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew I always wanted to be a performer. I remember watching TV as a kid and memorizing the funny things characters did so I could recreate the scenes at school. When I got to my senior year of high school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life; I just knew I didn’t want to stay in my small hometown. So I made the leap to Los Angeles and decided to give acting a try. I told myself that if I wasn’t on TV in 5 years, I would move home. Luckily, I booked my first commercial 6 months after leaving acting school.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would have to say I’m most excited for people to see the second season of High School Musical: The Musical; The series. We made some Disney history this year with LGBTQ+ representation so that’s what I would be the most proud of.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ohhh. It depends on the friend and what their vibe is. But one of my favorite thing to do when I have friends in town is a simple picnic and some amazing LA spot. So Griffith, Santa Monica beach, or some really pretty park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
