Meet Fred Raphael | Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fred Raphael and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fred, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As we all know that NYC is the capital of the world so, my thought process was to bring Haitian Food front and center to be experienced. I am driven by a desire to create something meaningful and make a positive impact in the community.
What should our readers know about your business?
I was told this very early on by my father, when you make the client your number one priority you cannot fail. Very often many small businesses owners tend to direct all of their energy towards the day to day of the business and completely forget about the client. I pride myself on ensuring that each and every client is prioritized from the time they call us to the time they set foot in our establishment..
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, NYC offers a plathora of exciting and diverse places to explore. Some of my favorite spots are Time Square, when she can experience the vibrant energy, the dazzling billboards and some of the iconic broadway theaters. I am big fan of the high line so we will take along walk there and experience some of the most unique views the city has to offer. When it comes to food , I would definitely take them to Rebèl Restaurant to experience authentic Haitian cuisine right in the lowest east side. I would most likely end the night at the Ludlow house for a delectable cocktail while enjoy some throwback hip hop and R&B.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give an extra shoutout to Chef Stephan Durand and all of the other chefs doing a tremendous work to continue to elevate Haitian gastronomy.
