We had the good fortune of connecting with Freddy Aguilar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Freddy, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
One of the things that inspires me every day in creating stories and meaningful work is knowing that my creativity comes from God. I’m especially moved by the very first verse in the Bible: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” He designed and crafted the universe with care and intention, and a few days later, He created us. Think about that—we were created to create. This truth inspires me every single day. It blows my mind how we can make a living by creating captivating stories. It’s truly a blessing, and it fuels my passion for telling beautiful stories about people and the companies they’ve built, showcasing the unique creativity within each of us.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Freddy Aguilar, and together with my business partner, Pablo Aguilar, we own CR8LA, a production company dedicated to helping businesses grow through content creation and social media management. We started off by creating compelling stories for companies and real estate agents. Over time, we noticed that when our clients posted videos, they often did so in a way that didn’t fully maximize their impact. So, we took it upon ourselves to help them do it right. We realized that managing social media and posting content wasn’t just something we could help with—it was something that could take a huge burden off our clients, allowing them to focus on what they do best: running their business.

In this new era, social media has become a vital part of every business’s strategy, and we’re here to help companies navigate it with ease. While CR8LA hasn’t always been easy, we’ve grown at a steady pace each year. We never want to grow too quickly and risk losing the quality and reputation we’ve worked so hard to build, which is what we pride ourselves on.

There are many videographers and production companies out there, but it’s taken us 10 years to get to where we are today. Every day, we continue to learn, grow, and refine our craft. The journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but each one has taught us valuable lessons. At the end of the day, we’re most excited about the work we do and the impact we have on our clients’ success. We want the world to know that CR8LA is about more than just making great videos—it’s about building lasting relationships and helping businesses succeed in the digital age.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d show them a week full of adventures and local favorites. We’d start with a chill hike at Runyon Canyon for great views of the city and catch a stunning sunset. For meals, we’d hit up Angels Tijuana Tacos in the San Fernando Valley, my go-to spot for Mexican food. We’d explore iconic LA spots like the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Griffith Observatory, then relax with a day at Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. We’d take in the city from Mulholland Drive, hike Eaton Canyon, and spend time at places like The Getty Center and The Broad Museum. I’d make sure we visited local hidden gems like Palisades Park and wrapped up the week with a visit to The Getty Villa and dinner at Providence. It’s all about blending stunning hikes, breathtaking sunsets, delicious food, and the best spots in LA for a perfect week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I first got into filmmaking and video production about 10 years ago, thanks to my brother, who had just started his first production company, Home Sweet Home Productions. Watching him build something from the ground up inspired me, and I was drawn to the creativity and passion behind every project. He’s been my mentor ever since, teaching me nearly everything I know about the craft. From the technical aspects to the art of storytelling, I’ve absorbed so much from him. It’s not just the skills he’s passed on, but also his drive and dedication that really pulled me into this world. I’m truly grateful for his guidance, as it’s shaped my journey and my love for filmmaking.
