Meet Gandom Mizban | Artists (painter)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gandom Mizban and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gandom, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The answer is Love Love to portray everything in life, successes, failures, sorrows, resentments, sufferings, joys and all the imaginations of our minds about life and the environment around me. I think anyone can paint, painting is an inherent art in us, you just have to cultivate it. Painting gives me the feeling of being God, when I create a work of my own and I can depict all these feelings. I can’t see a better factor for my sexist than being in love with my job.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started painting and sketching since I was 14 as a hobby, and it became one of my passions as I was growing up. I began painting landscape, portrait and still life in oil paint and I was really enjoyed it. But as times went by, my mind and thoughts were pulling me in a different direction and felt, a landscape will always be a landscape. That’s when I became attracted towards abstract art, where it’s more open to interpretation and can take on a different meaning depending on when, how and who’s looking at it! Therefore, I decided to change my style to abstract paintings with acrylic. I now continue my quest on a daily basis in my home studio where I find sanctuary and tranquility and where I can express my feelings on canvass to a new dimensions that satisfying to me and hope I can share some of these emotions with my friends and fans.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in OC is Laguna Beach, when I migrated to USA in 2010 and I visited this city, I told my husband do you know what is my dream? My dream is to work in one of these galleries!! He looked at me nicely and told me that; it’s always nice to have a dream! Now I’m working in one of the most famous galleries in the city( Forest and ocean Gallery). In this city my dreams came true. I can feel love, passion and beauty in this city and I love to share it with my friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one who always supported and encouraged me in my work was my husband. Although his field of work was completely different from mine he always supported me emotionally and financially during all this time.
