Meet Ganna Bubnova | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ganna Bubnova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ganna, what are you inspired by?
I find inspiration everyday. Living in California gives you so many opportunities to be around nature. I love spending time in the mountains or on the beach watching sunsets and listening to my favorite music. These pandemic times really made me appreciate everything I’m surrounded with and enjoy being where I am without an opportunity to travel. So simply being able to stand barefoot on grass; feel how solid it feels beneath your feet and focus on your connection to the earth. It empowers me as well as inspires me to create.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I first came to LA, to act, I knew where I wanted to see myself in 2 years. I’m a very strategic person so it’s really important for me to set up goals and work hard towards achieving them. I use to feel that having an Eastern European accent would make it much more difficult for me, but I soon realized it actually set me apart from others and having an accent can, indeed, make one unique and help with getting desired roles. Everyone has a niche in this industry so this is mine. Being in the industry there were a hand full of opportunities I have taken. No matter how small or big they were it’s the experience I wanted to live through. I was able to work on a new pilot series on HBO MAX. I’ve got to be a face of a major cosmetic company called “Juvederm”. I landed a lead role in a new Michael Boggs music video and I’ve worked on many collaborations with brands this past year. They were all amazing experiences especially during the many auditions I had to go through. It’s been a pretty interesting roller coaster I think for the film industry this Covid year, but there’s a light to every end of a tunnel and I look forward to more projects to come!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would consider taking my friend on a low-key beach bike cruise along the PCH, starting in Santa Monica, and biking all the way to Malibu, where we’d have lunch at Malibu Farm, and then visit the Hollywood walk of fame, drench ourselves in the history of Hollywood and the distinct smell of one of Matcha spots. Runyon Canyon and Griffith Observatory are two great hikes for the best cityscape views. Beaches like Venice or Manhattan are for night campfires and sunrises, but the best sunsets are from the DTLA and Beverly Hills rooftops with open air restaurants and pools. So, DTLA is for dinner, Chateau is for drinks later, especially if you want to meet celebrities – that’s the spot. Hollywood and WeHo for bars, little speakeasies, and “for locals only” secret bars a regular tourist wouldn’t wander into. Hollywood is filled with hidden pathways and secret spots, so your Saturday night can easily turn into an adventure. They always have music and performances going on, so no sleep! Also, if you want to immerse in the atmosphere of Los Angeles in the roaring 20’s, The Cicada is the place to go: go in and dive into the authentic vibe, accurately dressed guests, thematic drinks, and of course the live performance that will take you back in time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m grateful to have been surrounded by amazing people throughout my life. Each and every person I’ve encountered, I believe, has always been for a reason. I’d love to shoutout to my scene study coach from The New York Film Academy (NYC), Anna Cianciulli, who not only believed in me, but inspired me to start my acting career. Her feedback, constructive criticism and direction were always fair and to the point. I mentally grew with her, not only as an actor, but as woman. I remember she cried during one of my in-class performances. It empowered me so much that I felt confident enough to consider acting as a career. Seeing how I was able to touch someone’s heart, so deeply, gave me hope and overall happiness. It is my goal, as an actor, to please, to inspire, and make that connection with my audience.
