We had the good fortune of connecting with Garrett Stafford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Garrett, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, I believe the most important thing my wife and I have done is providing exposure. My son lived overseas in his early years which exposed him to diversity and culture. Our children have had exposure too many different types of activities from sports to art, and expression through these forms. Having opportunities to DJ at live events, explore nature, creatures, and travel. Exposure to human connection through the opportunity to be an up stander, to help others with developmental delays, and too volunteer, helping those in need. Exposure to actual hard work without instant gratification and the steps it involves to realize a goal.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work allows me to combine my passion for design and my passion for Los Angeles. Whether I’m selling houses, consulting on a development project, or selling a design concept for automobile modification, I’m in a space that brings me true happiness. I grew up with design being a heavy influence in my life. My father is an architect who co-founded SCI-Arc, and I was able to watch first hand the combination of design and business. I went on to become a professional hockey player and it was during these years that I focused on personal health and wellness. Once I retired, I came home to Los Angeles with the vision of helping my partner Danny get Ghost Motorsports to become more recognized for its design concepts and craftsmanship. We have been able to design and build noteworthy vehicles for the SEMA show in Las Vegas and drive creatives in the city to the shop with aspirations of turning their moving canvas into a work of art. Next came the real estate piece of the puzzle which has always been the ultimate goal for me. Growing up in Los Angeles, I’ve been able to study, learn, and admire the unique and diverse architecture within our sprawling metropolis. I am ecstatic to be able to combine personal wellness and design with real estate. I believe health and wellness stem from many places. When searching for a property, the structure of the property and grounds should not be the only focus. Truly finding what brings us happiness and finding a property where we can incorporate those things within a few mile radii, is the ultimate goal. This allows us to embrace our community and make an impact. Combining location with the right architecture and aesthetic can elevate our health and happiness. A lesson I learned early on, is how important it is to follow your passion. Whether that leads you to one career or a combination of five, it is most important to be inspired and do work that is fulfilling with purpose.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to say that one of the greatest things about Los Angeles is that there are so many interesting places, attractions, restaurants and individuals. I think the ultimate itinerary would be to cater the itinerary to match my visitors interests. I also love that I get the chance to see and learn new things about the city I grew up in every year as it’s so vast and constantly evolving.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I truly need to give the credit to my wife. She has always inspired me due to the success she has had in her career and the adversity she has overcome as a woman in a male-dominated industry. As a sports therapist who was part of the medical staff on two professional sports teams (MLB Detroit Tigers and NHL Detroit Red Wings). She has shown me how to achieve through the organization of vision and hard work. She has been able to reverse engineer a goal from the top, and to being around her forces you to up your game. Whether she’s being an amazing Mama, friend, daughter or therapist she’s giving 100% to what is directly in front of her. Combining her strengths and emulating them, along with my strengths I have from my life experience has elevated my performance.
