We had the good fortune of connecting with Gary Leli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gary, what do you attribute your success to?
My Wife Lindsay, my family and my close friends. You have to surround yourself with positive people who are moving in the same direction as you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
the things Im most excited about in comedy is continuing to do the road and different cities. Growing up an Italian New Yorker it’s a lot of fun to see how audiences respond in different cities as people love the character, the New York accent and love being made fun of and roasted. the making fun of audiences and crowd work is most fun as it is exactly how I grew up in that everyone just made fun of each other. The thing you learn is that if you make fun of an audience with love people immediatley engage and in many instances are hoping they get picked on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the places I would take them to eat/drink would be South Beverly Grill, Ocean Prime, and Angelini Alimentari. as for the places I would take them Malibu and the Getty Museum in Brentwood. However, there is nothing better than hanging at home making great meals, cocktails and smoking cigars.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Wife Lindsay is the most supportive in my comedy career! Starting comedy in NYC I would do open mics/shows 6-7 nights a week and she would come to Almost all of them and support and film all my sets. So a Special shoutout to her as well as My Mom Who passed away in 2018 and pushed me into pursuing comedy. She was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of her children and I know she is above continuing to do the same.
