We had the good fortune of connecting with GINA DINIZ CAMPOS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi GINA, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Cheese bread have always been part of my life . It is one of the most traditional (and my favorite) Brazilian recipe – originated in the state I was born, Minas Gerais. After couple of years living in San Diego, I truly missed my family’s great food and following my grandma’s recipe I began to make cheese bread for my friends – who loved the cheesy, fluffy bread. From being a success in our small gatherings and encouraged by friends, I came up with the idea of spreading this delicious food to others Brazilian and to introduce into the American culture, which has been very receptive.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Cheesy as it sounds, Super Cheese Bread is my dream come true. Using a special Brazilian gluten-free flour along with selected American ingredients, I’m gladly spreading the deliciousness culture of my beloved country. Although navigating the entrepreneur journey has been challenging, with all its up and downs, having a right mindset and knowing where you want to be in the future, give you the strength and motivation to keep pursuing your dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would love to take my friends to visit the sunny San Diego. Enjoy the beautiful weather at the beaches – Windansea and Coronado are my fave. Go for a coffee at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. Visiting Balboa Park – a historic park with amazing gardens, museums and great restaurants – would be definitely on my list of places to go. Watching the sunset on the Sunset Cliffs is a must-go and having dinner at Casa Guadalajara in Old Town would be a fantastic experience.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends play an important part in my journey as a small business owner, I’m very blessed to have them. A special shoutout to Carina Fleckner – she is one of the best brand photographers in soCal, an inspiration as a person and professional.
