We had the good fortune of connecting with Gisela Prishker The Boudoir Chick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gisela Prishker, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

I honestly think art changed my life , I think while everyone around me had different interest like  smoking ,drinking and boys. I was falling in love with photography and the dark room ,developing my own films and print those pictures was literally my biggest high at a very young age I just knew I wanted to be a photographer to be exact I was only 14 when I met my first love Photography .

I always dreamed of seen my pictures in magazines and I shot over 100 covers , I honestly didn’t know I had a chance coming from a very small town Reynosa Tamaulipas you don’t have many opportunities but I packed my bags ,3k in my pocket ,my dreams and left to Miami where my career took off And I had never regret that ,I choose an artistic career , I will forever be thankful with Boss & Somos magazine to have me as their lead photographer for many years .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I think what set me apart from other people is that I make sure my client is happy, have fun and I do whatever it takes to create an experience, you are not only buying pictures you investing in a life time experience. I love capturing moments, beauty but now I specialize in Portraits and Boudoir I will
Shoot other things but I don’t promote I honestly feel that I live to empower woman, to motivate them,I love styling the shoot, capture the essence of each person I photograph

I started with Somos magazine in Florida and I did over 100 covers I started as a photographer then I ended up doing the castings, art director, location scouting I literally was involved with everything in the cover shoots and I loved it because is nice to be part of everything in the shoot .

I want people to know that I do this job because I am in love with photography and  I am very passionate about it. To empower woman and help them feel like the most beautiful woman in the planet and create images that will wow them is what I love the most .

If you don’t feel pretty I will brainwashed you until you believe you are the hottest woman in the world .

The reason where I am at right now is because I never take No for an answer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite tour is lake shrine ,Malibu I love that drive ,I love to eat tacos I think Leo’s tacos in Echo Park are great ,I also would take them to Le Petit Ermitage before Covid they used to have This jaz concert that was literally out of this world . I love brunch at Bottega Louie and Toast , my go to place was I. The Arts District InkoNito La like literally the best place in town .then I will take a drive to Carmel
And do the 12mike drive is just fantastic .
Carmel -Pebble Beach -Monterrey . Maybe I will also drive to SD and cross the border because I love Tijuana .
That’s what I will do and of-course cook at home and make the best quesadillas for them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people my photography teacher Jim Hicks was my first inspiration he pushed me a lot to become a photographer he always said to me you have a great eye , my brother Tavo that convinced my mom to let me go to Miami . In Miami I felt a little bit lost I didn’t know if I was good enough to pursue this dream but I took my phone and called many photographers in Miami I called from the non famous to the best and no one was as friendly as Kiko Ricote , I was only looking for a mentor I only wanted to know if I was good enough and when I met him he told me the same You have a great eye ,you should do this ,shoot this way do this do that come and shoot with me ,and I will always be thankful with him for sharing his knowledge and experience unconditionally, My friends are also my biggest cheerleaders.
And of course my family has always been supporting and now my life partner who pushed me hard to open my own studio and helped me to decorated it Valerie has been a great to me.
