We had the good fortune of connecting with Giulia Zeta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Giulia, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ever since I was a little girl I always loved telling stories. I loved dressing the clothes and personality of someone completely different from myself and bring that character to life. I’ve always found it very rewarding and fascinating; the actor’s ability to connect with people and bring audiences together is something so beautiful and incredibly fulfilling. When I was nine years old I had my first ever show in front of an audience where I had the pleasure to interpret multiple characters and experience those feelings. That event was so pivotal to me that it made realize that I loved acting and everything connected to it and that I wanted it to be my job.
Years later it’s today and I’m so proud to say I did follow my dream. Every time I’m on set, on stage or I have the pleasure to be interpret a character I still feel the same excitement I felt when I was nine, standing on that stage for the first time. I love being an artists and I love telling stories.

To get to where I am today the journey started years ago and it was definitely not an easy road. I’ve always attended theater courses and I’ve studied in several studios across Milan (where I’m from), so my decision of making acting my job came pretty smoothly for me. But one of the first challenges I had to overcome was the discouragement and doubts from people. They would tell me Hollywood was too far or too dangerous or that I would’ve never made it on my own here. And, if I didn’t have the drive and confidence I had, I would’ve easily fallen for those words. Besides that, a more recent and very important challenge I had to face and overcome was dealing with rejection; being able to accept it and take it as a lesson instead of as a failure. In this industry actors and artists in general get rejected on a daily basis; there’s nothing personal or malicious about it, it’s just part of the routine of being in the creative world. However, when you’re fresh out of college and you still have some of that wishful thinking that makes you feel invincible reality can hit even harder. That’s what happened to me and that’s what I had to work on for months. It was difficult and long, but I’m proud of the progress I made with it and the way I’m able to think positively about my craft now.
I feel like my story and my journey as an actor is very similar to a lot of other stories from actors across the world; we all struggle with similar problems and we can all relate to each other in some way. So, what I want people to know about me or take away from my experience is just to always be focused on your dreams and your goals; because when you’re driven towards something and you know that’s what makes you happy sooner or later that thing will become reality, it just takes confidence, focus and patience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend would come to LA I would first take her to see the beach: Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice. We would probably start and get a lobster roll in Malibu, chill at the beach, then drive to Santa Monica and get some pictures on the pier and finally go and see the sunset on Venice beach while eating an ice cream. I would definitely take her to see the walk of fame, which was my favorite attraction when I first moved here, and then we would probably drive through Sunset Boulevard towards Beverly Hills and take pictures on the iconic Rodeo Drive. I would take her on Melrose, The Grove, Downtown and maybe take a trip to Pasadena.
I would take her to eat in my favorite restaurants like: Clark Street Diner, Red Maple, Granville, Mel’s Drive in. We’ll definitely grab some street tacos one day and make a stop at In-N-Out on another day.
And finally we would go to the Hollywood sign and have a picnic at the park.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one person that has always supported me ever since I was a kid was my mom. She believed in my dream of becoming and actress and flying across the world to pursue it. She helped me through college and she supported me when I dealt with the nostalgia and insecurities of being far away from home. I had a really hard time believing in myself and in my choices in the beginning, because of the distance that separated me from my family. I was so overwhelmed by those feeling that I couldn’t see the good things; I couldn’t appreciate how much I had already accomplished and I was giving for granted the huge steps I took. But my mom was always there, and she helped me overcome those moments and find the beauty in the craft I chose and that I’ve always loved. She my absolute first and biggest fan and everything I have today is because of her and her love and support.
