We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenn Deneve and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Glenn, why did you pursue a creative career?
I grew up in a creative environment, my mom was a hairstylist and had a successful salon and my dad was an art dealer and had a framing store as well, all of this translated exactly in what I am doing with my life today. I became a well respected hairstylist in Beverly Hills with a big following who was just painting as a hobby for the first 10 years and for the last 10 years turned into a celebrated artist as well.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With my art I try to use bright colors so when people look at my work it it gives them a happy and fuzzy feeling that makes them feel good and think about all the beautiful things in life and forget about the bad.
I got to where I am by hard work with having 2 full time careers. I build a strong wealthy client base as a hair stylist and these are the people that are buying my paintings and spreading the word to their friends. The lesson is keep personal relationships a priority and find people who are positive and supportive. I want the world to look at my website at www.glenndeneve.com to check out my art.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My work and life surrounds Beverly Hills in California where we have the most exiting restaurants, shopping, neighborhoods and coastline… It is really easy to entertain friends, take them on a stroll in Beverly Hills to look at the beautiful stores and have lunch at E Baldi, or Avra, take a drive up the coast in Malibu and stop at Nobu for lunch, and don’t forget to take them to my studio to look at new artwork that I am working on and maybe buy some…
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate this to both my parents who have been the most supportive from the start and encouraged me to follow my dreams.
