We had the good fortune of connecting with Golsa Sadreameli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Golsa, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I started last year, I had no boundaries for myself. Would work odd hours, weekends. Even if I was not tight on deadline. Not just working on my designs, but also managing my social media and creating content.
This year I decided to treat the weekend as it should be. No post on social media and no checking emails, no designing.
This is something anyone who start their own business should keep in mind. Remember to give yourself weekends. Count the hours you’re working. Remember to balance your days and weeks.

What should our readers know about your business?
I design homes for a living. Whether its renovations or build ups. I listen to my clients needs and wants. As much as I’m here to design what I want, I have to remember the client is the one who has asked me to help them design their home, restaurant, bar… .
It’s never easy starting a business, you’re going against many others before you who are doing the same thing. But this shouldn’t discourage you to never start. Every day is a lesson. It might come from a phone call with the client, or a meeting with the city, or simple planning with the material manufacturers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take her to Malibu, even though its burned, its still standing and beautiful. Definitely Nobu is a destination for drinks and food. Walk on Santa Monica Pier. Trip to the getty villa. Bars along side the pier in Marina Del Rey.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents, always telling me the sky is the limit. My grand father and his passion for art and history that plant the seed in my brain from a very early age. My sister always having my back. And my best friend Hanna, for supporting me to start in 2021.
