We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Greg, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that risks are along the same lines as failure. Both are essential for success. You can’t really have success without taking risks and often times when you take these risks it results in failure. In my experience I have found that if you want anything bad enough you’re going to have to jeopardize your comfort. There is a lot of uncertainty in pursuing something that you are passionate about, but I guarantee that if you fail 100 times you will succeed once, and that is all you need to get to the next level, then you’ll fail 100 more times, and you’ll succeed once again and climb to the next rung. Life is a series of endless rungs we must climb to attain what we dream of accomplishing. It doesn’t really ever stop but as you look back on your life you realize that you’ve achieved some version of what you aspired to initially, and the altitude is higher and you have a better vantage point and you’re wiser and know more about how to keep pushing towards success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My partner and I started the Artist’s Collective because we grew up in corona and there wasn’t much to do when we were kids here. She is an incredible artist and in my early 20s I started acting and pursuing that dream. In 2022 I was fortunate enough to act alongside Kirsten Dunst on a film written and directed by Alex Garland ( Ex Machina.)  At the end of last year I also acted in a film written and directed by Chris Weitz ( Star Wars, American Pie.)

Both of these films will have a summer release this year. I try to stay inspired and busy through acting and also being involved with the Artist’s Collective by connecting with other artist’s and artisans. We also rent out the space for Events so it’s easy to stay busy these days, whether it’s answering phone calls or returning emails, playing with the kids, or preparing for an acting job. My wife and I both have kids and believe that art is so important for them, and being able to Express themselves and understand the world. We really just believe in authenticity and being truthful in everything that we try to do. Our hope is that, that resonates with the community when they visit the Artist’s Collective.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Temecula is a place we love to go as a family. The vineyards are beautiful and the restaurants are great. It’s got a very pure energy that we are trying to Incorporate into the Artist’s Collective. If I had a friend visiting in town I’d probably take them there, then take a drive on upper in Corona and go visit some of my old stomping grounds. There is a lot of history in Corona and a lot of beauty to be discovered here. The community has grown a lot since I was in high school and it’s nice to see it’s starting to flourish. My whole life I tried to get away from corona but when I finally came back I saw it in a new light. I feel content living here now.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
James at Float State. He is a local business owner and friend and I appreciate the help he has given us and our business. Both of our businesses are located in the Shops Dos Lagos off the 15 freeway in Corona.
