We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregory Wendt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gregory, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been an independent thinker, listening to all of the ideas around me and looking where I am uniquely inspired, in line with my life purpose and where people around me need my help, essentially what they call ikigai in Japan. As always, journey of living and creating aligned with purpose is a process of discovery and ongoing adjustment to the trends in the world, and the ways that life creates opportunities every day. I have been inspired to listen to others who seek my help and to learn where I can respond in a way that advances my own growth, and expresses my purpose and passion. As a social entrepreneur, focused on serving the needs of the current AND future generations, it always is an interesting experience. My father was an entrepreneur, so I saw the benefits, and challenges, yet I presume I’m wired similarly, and am grateful for the insights I have gained to serve the creative process and build on what I have done before and move toward the vision I hold for the world, a better world, which has driven my work for decades.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I first discovered the notion of sustainable development in the late 80’s and ever since I have been passionately applying my gifts in fields of impact investing, sustainable & regenerative economic development, portfolio management, business innovation. Now my focus is incorporating whole systems approach and living systems principles to expand the role of investing toward a resilient & regenerative living for those I serve. Our mission is to evolve, build and implement a more effective means with and for the community of practice of impact investing for our clients, and economic development partners to create better tools and systems for the implementation of 21st century capacities for capital markets. Since 1991 I have enjoyed serving people who desire to align their values, wealth and influence for a better world. I have built my expertise on the foundation of my multidisciplinary education and a wide range of experiences as part of some of the world’s leading institutions. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mentors have been so generous with their wisdom and support over the years. I remain grateful for their ongoing support and encouragement to be myself and express my true gifts to the world.
