We had the good fortune of connecting with Greta Angert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Greta, what do you attribute your success to?
specialization – picking something that you love and becoming an expert in it, honing your skills in that specific niche

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a private psychotherapy practice in Beverly Hills. I specialize in eating disorders and trauma and work with age 11 and up. I learned early on that specializing in a specific population is critical to establishing a successful practice. Learn something well, become an expert in it and work hard. In my field, one’s reputation is extremely important. I am very passionate about helping people overcome their unhealthy relationship with food. Trauma is a difficult population to work with, but I love it and became certified in a specific trauma technique (EMDR) in order to help clients heal from their trauma as quickly as possible.

I have done a lot of public speaking throughout my career as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to a yoga class (Tom Morley’s classes are really fun), bring Bay Cities picnic lunch to the beach, climb the Santa Monica stairs, a great dinner at Ysabel, Bestia or Margot.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of the supervisors and fellow clinicians I trained under and worked alongside. The Maple Counseling Center – Astrid Schwartz, Harold Young. Mario de Salvo – former supervisor at an eating disorders treatment center. My own personal therapists over the years who modeled and formed my young therapist self.
