We had the good fortune of connecting with Hakon Ademi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hakon, why did you pursue a creative career?
Ever since I was a kid, I loved to entertain people! It makes me happy! I loved telling stories, verbally and visually! It was even before I went to elementary school my mother took me to watch a Christmas play in the theater and I was obsessed! I was staying in character until the summer! In fact my mother have to hide my Santa hat after I fell asleep one night.
Later on I thought my mission in life was to become a professional soccer player, that did not turn out the way I hoped it would so gradually I started to look into acting again. Of course I thought this is not you can do for a living and becoming a professional actor is like being born into a Royal family. But the more into it I got the more passionate I became, and I started to realize that is just a matter of who wants it the most, it’s not impossible! And here we are almost 10 years later I am in Hollywood and I making my living of acting! Just like my childhood dream. I might not a movie star yet but I have acted in a movie who had its premiere here in a movie theater in Hollywood! And all due respect that’s more that I even thought would be possible when I first started this journey!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think the most special thing about me as an artist is my ability to complete and finish what I get into. I find a way to overcome any obstacles that comes and I am getting the job done no matter what. I spending hours practicing and preparing to perfect my craft. Both physically and emotionally. I NEVER give up!
If there is something that I can’t do I see only one solution and that is to learn how to do it and go do it. I have a mentality that says nothing can stop me and I can always work hard to be better. It haven’t always been easy I have been learning all my life to don’t show emotions and don’t act in an emotional manner, and as an actor I had to let that go in order to act out my emotions as I need them in the moment and in the work that I do.
I have told myself that if other people can do it, then it is possible and then I can do it too. And I believe in myself, I only take advices from people who are in a place I want to be. And I always putting in the effort and a little extra too!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I feel so sorry for the people that have to come here with me so I have to drag them to the gym twice a day! Other than that I always bring my visitors to Laguna Beach, I love that place! The is an amazing Italian restaurant down in Laguna Beach as well that I really like! And then I take them up to the Hollywood sign so they can see the city and the legendary Hollywood sign itself. When I first moved out there, I used to go up there all the time, it is a very special and nostalgic thing for me! Of course, no visits at my place. It’s complete without hanging out at Jaz café and kitchen in Hollywood boulevard! They have the best coffee in the city and definitely the nicest people too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all I will thank God! And I want to give a very special thanks to my Parents who always believed in me and supported me, and not to mention always allowed me to follow my heart and my dreams! I couldn’t wish for anyone better than them! And Mom, I’m still gonna get you that Pink Cadillac one day! I will also give a big shoutout to my instructors at New York Film Academy, who prepared me for very hands on for the industry!
I will also thank my former classmates for being such amazing people!
And to everybody in the film industry that I’ve been working with for giving me the opportunities that they have! I am forever thankful for all the projects I have been included in.
