Meet Hannah Hutton | Co-Founder of Personal Fav Co.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Hutton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Make excellent mistakes.” When building a brand you’re going to make mistakes. A lot of them. Do not beat yourself up or dwell on it. Immediately reflect, pivot, embrace the error- that is how you learn from it and prevent repeating it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started in clean products over a decade ago. I was one of the first employees at The Honest Company in 2012. I truly feel like I was paid to go to business school. I wore so many hats when it came to brand building and genuinely have had FUN. We had the champagne problem of overnight success but no matter how large we got, we wanted to maintain the sensation of feeling small and intimate for our customers. From that experience I genuinely became customer and product obsessed. At Personal Fav Co. we are so particular with every single ingredient that goes in each product because we care so deeply about the customer experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love this question! I live in Larchmont Village area so I am very close to Ktown aka best food ever. There is this incredible hole in the wall spot call Iki Ramen- both sushi and ramen. One of the ramen broths is made from Yuzu! Mandeville Canyon in the Brentwood area and is my absolute favorite hike- it has the best views, you can go on an easier trail, a harder trail, such a great way to get a 360 view of LA. My two favorite seafood spots are Broad Street Oyster Co & Found Oyster. Broad Street is in Malibu, so that is a great way to see that area (stop by the Getty Villa too!). Found Oyster is on the east side, tucked away, hole in the wall- get oysters with caviar and vodka! Both places have the yummiest natural wine too. If you can see a show at The Greek or The Hollywood Bowl- that is a MUST. Also, there is currently a great art exhibit DTLA called Luna Luna- lost art from a 1987 amusement pak in Germany with incredible pieces of Keith Haring, David Hockney, Salvador Dali, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein and more! It blew my mind.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel SO fortunate to be surrounded by ‘hype women.’ These are my friends that will literally come to my garage and help me pack out orders. Set up events. Shout me out on social media when I am suffering from imposter syndrome. It was such a risk to leave my job and start something untraditional and their daily encouragement truly keeps me going.
