We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Mathews and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk is equivalent to faith. My whole life has been led by faith and taking risks & I’ve never once regretted it! My faith has provided a rock solid foundation to move forward with confidence and it starts by taking tiny steps. Most of the time, we’ll only have enough light to take for the next step in front of us & that’s enough! Seeing the rewards of taking those tiny steps is what keeps me going & continually taking risks in my career/life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a singer/actor in Los Angeles, currently doing most of my work & helping with churches in the city. I’ve been singing professionally for the last ten years, and acting has been a fairly new venture. I began my musical journey at the age of 4 years old, thanks to my parents, so it always seemed very natural for me and the career choice was easy. Acting, however, has been a pleasant surprise and an avenue that I am thoroughly enjoying. To be honest, it has been fairly easy for me, contrary to popular experience – and I credit that all to my faith in God that I’ve based my entire life and career on. That being said, I do not mean to say that my life has been void of challenges completely- that’s far from the truth. However, career wise, things have always somehow worked out and been smooth sailing. I’ve always had immense faith that things would work out – and they always have.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My second week here in LA, I remember craving some authentic South Indian food. I feel like I struck gold when I discovered the restaurant Mayura in Culver City – I think I cried happy tears. The spice level hits the spot and is definitely a MUST TRY if you’re craving spicy South Indian cuisine!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My big brother was honestly the first to discover my talent & he knew I’d pursue a career in music and entertainment even before I did – so big shoutout to him!
