We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Uche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Image of God Media is seeking God first and making Him the true CEO of everything that is done, inside and outside of the brand. I am never led astray or disappointed when I do this. Image of God Media is flourishing and will continue to flourish because God’s wise leadership and counsel enables me to make informed, quality, decisions while being faithful to execute concepts for the brand that will preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. There’s a scripture that says “but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). This is true spiritually and practically. When I humbled myself towards my relationship with God, He added on boldness, faithfulness, hard-work, dedication, wisdom, love, peace, and more important qualities that encouraged success in many areas within the brand, photography and cinematography to name a few. These qualities permeated through how I run Image of God Media. Ultimately, I would not have grown my brand to where it is now without seeking God first because He worked on me on a personal level so I can effectively do the work He has called me to do in a mighty way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Creatively, I am a photographer and filmmaker who creates visual art in order to preach the gospel. I am different from most photographers and filmmakers because my work is faith-based. My photography conceptually touches on many areas of the Christian faith and how one can grow in their relationship with God, depicting scenarios from the Bible or Holy Spirit-filled messages through visuals. Similarly, I intend on directing, producing, filming, and editing films for Christ that will lead the audience to Him. I an unique because I don’t want to do or show what has already been done before. I sometimes get tempted to follow the patterns of culture and what is trending but I have to remind myself that I must remain set apart and unique, spiritually and creatively. My work is not going to look like everyone else’s and that is okay! I intend to bring something new and not build on past foundations in this industry. If you can’t already tell, I love Jesus, so there is nothing I won’t do for Him, including making my brand about myself. It’s really all about Him. If you take away anything from this, just remember that Jesus Christ is the name above every other name that saved me and equipped me to do all that I am doing through my creative side. He can do the same for you and place you on the path of pursuing righteousness and His purpose for your life, too!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Joshua Tree National Park is definitely a must see spot, especially for nature lovers. The scenery is amazing and is an experience you have to know for yourself in-person! So many people I know who have gone there said it had breathtakingly beautiful views. Almost everyone who comes to LA visits the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so you don’t want to be left out of that too! Lastly, you want to check out Downtown Los Angeles for a feel of the city and nice restaurants to try, if you are a foodie.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give glory to God for the opportunity to speak on this platform. I also want to give a shoutout to my lovely family and friends who genuinely support my creative ventures. Lastly, shoutout to Ayo Awobajo for recommending me!
