Meet Hayley Fedders | Coach for Graphic Designers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayley Fedders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hayley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business stemmed from a combination of necessity and passion. After facing challenges in traditional employment, such as rejection due to my pregnancy, I realized the importance of creating my own opportunities. Despite the initial hurdles, I craved the freedom to pursue my creative vision while also having control over my schedule and finances. This desire for independence, coupled with my love for design and entrepreneurship, propelled me to take the leap and launch my own venture. Ultimately, I wanted to build a career that aligned with my values and allowed me to make a positive impact on both my life and the lives of others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business Studio Seaside, is a culmination of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others thrive in the design world. What sets me apart is my dedication to providing not only exceptional design services to client but also valuable resources and guidance to fellow designers on their journeys.
What I’m most proud of is the journey itself—the evolution from a struggling freelancer to a successful entrepreneur guiding others to their full potential. It hasn’t been easy; in fact, it’s been a rollercoaster of challenges and triumphs. From facing rejection early in my career to grappling with financial insecurity, each obstacle served as a lesson and an opportunity for growth.
I’ve learned that resilience and adaptability are key. When faced with setbacks, I’ve leaned on my support network, sought out mentorship, and embraced continuous learning. It’s through perseverance and a willingness to pivot that I’ve been able to overcome challenges and build a thriving business.
My journey has taught me the power of authenticity and community. I want the world to know that success is not defined by perfection but by progress. I’m passionate about empowering others to embrace their unique paths, celebrate their victories, and learn from their setbacks. Through my brand and story, I hope to inspire fellow designers to dream big, take risks, and create the careers they’ve always envisioned.
