We had the good fortune of connecting with Helen Pollock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Helen, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
When I started Life Equestrian it was a passion project that lead to business. I created my IG account to talk about new and up and coming brands, a place for the new brands to tell their story and show how their products are being used by an amateur competitive equestrian. I would say the most important factor behind the success of Life Equestrian is the passion for horses and the bond between horse and rider. My goal is to create photos and videos capturing that feeling being curated across Life Equestrian IG and Blog to also tell a story for the brands.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
How did I get to where I am today professionally….thats a long answer but all shorten it to one word then explain…PASSION. I have a deep passion for horses and the uniquely amazing relationship they offer. Other than the inconsistencies that Instagram offers, I think it has been a wonderfully adventurous process to grow my account. I would say that the most important thing that I would want followers to know is that my posts always offer two sources of positivity, whether it is based on safety of the sport of the relationship with the horses. I love to integrate brands that offer these same messages with their products and love to work with new brands to help share their story.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
oh wow this is a bit tricky. It would definitely start out with some coffee at one of my favorite spots in Venice called Bluestone Lane coffee followed by a trip to the barn for a lesson or trail ride. Following a nice workout I would love to do a Korean scrub and soak in the ice and hot baths. From there we would go to Dy bar to get our hair done and then enjoy dinner at The Little Beach house in Malibu.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a tough one to answer all in one shoutout but I have a few businesses and mentors who really helped me take my passion to IG. Dr. Pernilla Nathan has forever changed my life with her evolving methodologies for getting through fear and conquering dreams. Kristin lee is instrumental as she captures each moment I share with the horses. And my husband, Mike Abrams for always putting up with my horse obsession.
