We had the good fortune of connecting with Helena Liu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Helena, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One thing outsiders often don’t realize about the AI and automation industry is how accessible it has become. Many people assume you need an advanced technical background to leverage AI, but the reality is that today’s AI tools are designed to be user-friendly and adaptable for businesses of all sizes. Even non-tech-savvy individuals can now create software, chatbots, voice bots, and other AI solutions.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my first business, ExamsPM, when I was 22. I knew absolutely nothing about entrepreneurship. In the first year and a half, I got nowhere and lost $5000. With no money to hire anyone, I had to become self-sufficient, learning everything from building websites to making graphics to writing blog posts to recording YouTube videos… Over the next decade, I eventually grew ExamsPM into a 7-figure business.

When COVID hit, I felt the need to challenge myself in new ways, which led to starting my second company, Product Camps. Product Camps offers AI automation training designed to help increase AI literacy and help businesses generate more sales and streamline their processes.

I’ve also ventured into the software space with the creation of ChatLemon and Whiteboards AI. Whiteboards AI is an AI writer that generates content instantly for your brand’s voice, and ChatLemon empowers users to build unlimited chatbots and send unlimited messages.

What sets us apart is our commitment to making AI accessible and user-friendly, regardless of technical background, while offering personalized guidance and live support to help our clients succeed.

The biggest challenges I faced were always internal. I constantly battled imposter syndrome, asking myself, ‘Am I good enough?’ I kept pushing forward anyways… Nothing was handed to me, and I had to work hard, often doing a lot of soul searching, to overcome my self-doubt. I’m incredibly proud of the journey so far, but in many ways, I feel like I’m just getting started.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure they experienced the true essence of Toronto. We’d explore the eclectic mix of neighborhoods, starting with brunch in Kensington Market to soak in its artsy vibe. Then we’d head downtown to go up the CN Tower and check out the views from up high. We’d spend an afternoon strolling through the Distillery District’s cobblestone streets, tasting craft beers at St. Lawrence Market, and checking out local art galleries.

We’d dive into Toronto’s incredible food scene (I’m a huge foodie). We’d grab Thai food at Pai Northern and a drink at KOST, overlooking the Toronto skylines. We’d also catch a live music performance in Queen West. Toronto is such a diverse and vibrant city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a special shoutout to Perry Belcher for opening my eyes to the true potential of AI. Perry was the person who showed me me that there’s so much more to the world of AI than just ChatGPT. His conference not only expanded my understanding of AI’s capabilities but also inspired me to explore the countless tools and possibilities this technology offers.
