Meet Hootan Zandifar: Facial Plastic Surgeon in Beverly Hills

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hootan Zandifar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hootan, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I have a quote that has been at the signature line of my personal email ever since I was in college. It’s a quote by Albert Einstein. The quote goes like this:
“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.”
There is so much I can say about this but truly what it says to me is that no matter what situation you find yourself in, there is always something good that can come of it. You just have to look at it from a different angle. I have tried to incorporate this in my business and my approach to daily challenges. It’s a reminder that sometimes all you need is a fresh set of eyes or a different outlook. It lets you push on even if you are faced with difficulty and in the end you are usually successful. It reminds me to not be myopic about my surroundings. I should always be open to other ways of looking and approaching things in the hope of finding the opportunity in the middle of difficulty.
What should our readers know about your business?
Hootan Zandifar M.D. Inc. is a labor of love. I have always wanted to have a boutique facial plastics practice where I get to know my patients and connect with them. I want to know what their desires are, what is their reason to embark on a journey of self improvement and I take pride in going along with them on this journey. My brand, my philosophy is to incorporate the art and science of medicine in the field of facial beauty. I’ve learned that the best way to accomplish this is to listen to your patients. Truly, find out what they want, what their motivations are and to advise them with your best expertise.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an Angelino, I love the beach. To me the best times in Los Angeles begin and end with the ocean. I think I would dedicate one day to go and visit some of our famous beaches. I would take them on the obligatory visit to Venice beach and Santa Monica Pier. We would likely dine at the pier in one of the many restaurants there. Maybe play a bit of beach volley ball and swim in the ocean. Another day would likely be dedicated to Hollywood. I think going to visit the Hollywood sign with a bit of hiking up the trail is a great example of what it means to be from here. We love the outdoors and we love our entertainment industries. Maybe catch a fast food by Mann’s Chinese Theater for lunch and then go for the touristy things to do there maybe even catch a star maps tour, although I’m not too sure about the accuracy of those things. I would definitely get dinner at Yamashiro and enjoy the view. Another day would be dedicated to downtown Los Angeles. I would probably get a day pass at the InterContinental and stay at poolside all day and enjoy a lunch by the pool. For dinner we would go to Spire 73 or 71 Above to enjoy the view. We could then enjoy the nightlife of downtown LA with a rooftop lounge. On the last day, I would likely go back to the beach but this time I would go to 2nd Street in Long Beach. I think 2nd street is a really under appreciated location in Los Angeles. It has water activities, great dining, tons of fun things to do and you can spend a whole day there keeping yourself entertained. Maybe we will rent Jet Skis or Kayaks or just enjoy the sun and ended it with dinner at one of the many restaurants along 2nd street. Truthfully, there are so many places in Los Angeles to enjoy. I didn’t even get a chance to talk about Universal Studios, Marina Del Rey, South Bay and more. I think you can live in Los Angeles for 20 years and still discover new places every day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many to recognize and thank that I’m sure to forget more people than I can remember. First and foremost I do have to thank my wife for her support. Starting your own business and working to always better yourself takes lots of time and perpetually takes you away from home. Truthfully, without a supportive spouse at home, I don’t think my success would be possible. Secondly, I want to thank my partner Dr. Reena Gupta. She has been a continuous source of inspiration and encouragement. She is a world renowned Laryngologist and Voice Specialist and when you are in the presence of someone that accomplished I hope you learn a thing or two. That is what I have tried to do and I hope that I have succeeded.
