Meet Horacio Weschler Ferrari | Restaurant Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Horacio Weschler Ferrari and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Horacio, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
When our first location on Melrose opened in 1995, we were committed to invest our utmost efforts to become successful in this industry. I credit our achievement to a combination of discipline, determination, and the development of good habits, as well as nurturing strong relationships among the business partners. Additionally, prioritizing physical and mental well-being and maintaining an unwavering desire to succeed have been fundamental elements of our journey. We are grateful to have loyal customers and a dedicated team of employees, so fostering good relationships with them is also essential to our success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have 3 locations in LA; Melrose, Studio City and Downtown. Argentine cuisine is known for its meat dishes, but we also offer options such as chicken, seafood, pasta, salads, and sandwiches. We frequently cater to company lunches, events, and we’ve been honored to host celebratory occasions such as engagement parties and wedding rehearsal dinners at our restaurants. Our chimichurri sauce has been adored by our customers for decades, prompting us to begin shipping it nationwide in recent years. Our Melrose location, unfortunately, has been closed since December 2022 due to a minor kitchen fire, but we’ve been renovating it, and we’re excited to reopen in mid-2024.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever I have a friend in town, I always bring them to LALA’S first even if they’ve just arrived from Argentina! Another favorite spot of mine to take them is Malibu beach, where they can watch my local friends (or myself!) kite surf. Lulu in Westwood has become one of my favorite restaurants as well. There are just so many cool restaurants and fun things to do in LA!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Shoutout goes to our landlord at our Melrose location who believed in our dreams and vision back in 1995. I also recognize that our success is thanks to my business partners, staff and our loyal customers. We cannot wait to reopen our Melrose location this year.
