Meet Iliki Price | wardrobe stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Iliki Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Iliki, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
when I first started my business there was a constant need to be on the clock all the time and say yes to absolutely every and anything that came my way for the sake of growing my business but also because naturally I was afraid to say no or make people wait too long for an answer for fear they would ask someone else!
I also worked out of my home for 9 years so in a sense I was always bringing it home with me and fitting it in my home life.
I was a yes girl didn’t matter when where how long the shoot was or if it was paid or not. I don’t regret this attitude at ALL because its that hunger and drive that got me where I am today with the solid relationships I have built
Over the years I have learned from other stylists and also learned the value of my time as well as my worth and it has helped me to prioritize projects– although I am still grateful for every opportunity that arises.
I recently got my first studio/office space and that has also immensely helped me in balancing a better schedule and not bringing it home with me 24/7.
I have also developed a confidence in my work and my portfolio so I don’t think I have to jump at every email or inquiry asap for fear they may change their mind and I am more confident in what my rate brings to the table.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a wardrobe stylist based in las Vegas. I started styling friends and co workers 11 years ago and have built my business from the ground up. I think that relationship building along with hard work and determination have truly helped me to get to where I am today. My only dream/wish/prayer was always to wake up in the morning and do something styling related professionally. There was never a financial goal but rather the dream to do what I loved every day and see where it took me. it was not easy– it was a lot of free jobs working for long hours away from my kids and husband expensive mistakes etc but I never have and never will give up. I constantly set goals for myself and strive to meet them and set bigger ones. Biggest challenges would probably be being patient and consistent and not giving up– also staying confident with clients who have made me question my ability- I have learned that a lot of times it’s not about me rather it’s working to get what the brand needs and that it’s not personal. During 2020 when the world slowed down I missed styling so much that I decided to take one of my passions/hobbies, thrifting and turn it into a passion project called sundays vintage where I curate and style my thrift finds for online and in person pop up shops here in Vegas.
I want the world to know how thankful I am to truly get up and do what I love every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
wow that’s a hard one I don’t think I’ve ever had the time for this opportunity since college! One of my favorite spots in the city is actually my home and I love starting mornings there so that would probably be the morning routine for part of the time!
I’m pretty low key and an island girl originally so I would definitely do a few pool days – I love red rock and green valley ranch for pool days. I also love wandering around downtown– vintage shopping is a must- love Off the Threads! Also love hanging at Fergusons downtown as well.
Would for sure want to take her to a few shows maybe Beatles love or MJ 1– or a local residency– Usher is always a must- dinners might include local favs like Sparrow and Wolf, Lamaii, or Sora Ramen. One of my favorite things Vegas puts on is Life is Beautiful so maybe they would be in town for that 🙂
I’m a mom and a lot of my free time is spent getting my kids to and from dance practice and performances. One of our favorite activities is watching my youngest daughter battle at local events– she is a b girl and breaks with Alchemy Breaking Academy. The hip hop/ breaking scene here is really amazing to be a part of and there are always fun events being put on for the community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
my husband who has been my biggest cheerleader and support system and without whom I couldn’t have put the time love and tears into my business thriving –
