We had the good fortune of connecting with Imunique Gibson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imunique, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was I’ve always wanted my own business since I was a kid, then I got older and had kids and wanted to leave them with something. I don’t want to struggle in life and I don’t want my kids to either. No one taught me about saving, generational wealth or anything but I wanted to break the cycle, I have a good life now but I want my kids to have a great life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well hopefully everyone knows our business name is All Thingz Unique. We plan on expanding our brand but you’ll have to wait for more details about that. What set us apart from others would be we do it all and nothing is ever produced twice. Everything we create is personalized which means it’s created just for you.

I’m most proud of just not giving up. The road to being your own boss/entrepreneur is not easy. You have slow days, you have low days, you have no order days, you have 100 order days, you have good days, bad days, great days etc The point is you have to be mentally strong you can’t let the bad days outweigh the good days.

My method to overcoming challenges would be to breathe, take one day at a time. You can’t expect everything to be easy, know when to ask for help, and know there are multiple ways to get to your success…2+2 is 4 but so is 3+1.

I want the world to know it’s ok to be different, it’s ok to take risk, it’s ok to show love, it’s ok to help. I know people who won’t share information just because they think the next person will outshine them. It’s enough shine in the world for everyone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I grew up in reseda and live in Gardena now. If my bestfriend was visiting I would take her to a place called Fiesta Martin Bar and Grill in Inglewood, they have the best food and drinks. I would take her to Dave and Busters. She has kids as well so honestly I’ve been looking into family trips like a cruise, a San Diego trip to go to SeaWorld and the zoo. All the bars in Hollywood are fun. There’s so much to do Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Laugh Factory, the pike, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach the list goes on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout the love of my life, business partner and soon to be wife laShaun. LaShaun is literally EVERYTHING, she’s my biggest supporter, my rock, my safe space, etc. She learns things so I won’t be overwhelmed with orders, she protects the brand, she gets the customers, she advertises and works just as hard as I do. She really does it all. I also want to shoutout our kids Jayden (7) and Josiah (2 months), they’re my inspiration to do and be better and they love me unconditionally.

I want to shoutout my parents, friends, and supporters. Thank you for continuing to show love and being the awesome village that I need.
