We had the good fortune of connecting with India and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi India, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My mindset and focus have always been geared towards pursuing my dreams. I knew I would only fully dedicate myself to my work if it was something I was passionate about. After discovering the art through which I enjoyed expressing myself, my focus shifted towards maintaining consistency and originality throughout the entire process.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been involved in the world of arts since childhood, and drawing has always been my primary choice for self-expression. Tattooing entered my life in 2018. Back then, there wasn’t as much information available, and being a girl led to rejection from some tattoo studios.

Adapting to the tattooing world wasn’t easy initially, but I’m grateful for having faced those challenges as they made me more persistent. It was clear to me that this realm could evolve into a more elegant and delicate area, better suited for the feminine gender. In 2020, I began my projects in ornamental and floral themes. After extensive research and practice, I found a formula that elevated my tattooing to another level, appealing to a different audience as well.

Since that year, I’ve specialized in fine and delicate line work, conducting sessions mainly for women. These sessions also incorporate a therapeutic element, involving sharing and the creation of positive memories. I believe that art is a form of healing, and my art also mends wounds.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Lisbon, Portugal. Our culture and pleasant climate make us a very sociable people. Clients traveling from other countries always end up taking a few days to visit the city. My suggestions would be to visit the beaches of Sintra and Ericeira, on the other side of the river Sesimbra and Arrábida.

I also really enjoy the center of Lisbon, places like Rossio and Chiado. Lisbon is known for its custard tarts, and it would be wonderful to stroll through the gardens of Belem and enjoy some of those pastries. Our wine is internationally renowned and truly excellent! Without a doubt, we would do a wine tasting and end the day with a sunset on the beach, indulging in some snails.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the current phase of my career, I recognize the significant role my parents played in supporting me to pursue my dreams. The fact that my parents are artists themselves helped them understand the path I chose to follow. A crucial figure throughout this journey has been my husband, Vizzi, who has contributed in every way to get me where I am today. He helped me lift my spirits and persevere during challenging times, offering motivating words and solutions. He also remained dedicated to planning and achieving crucial milestones in my career.
