Meet Irene Clark-Perry | Video Creator & Maker of Handmade Body Products

We had the good fortune of connecting with Irene Clark-Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Irene, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk is the scariest thing EVER! There are so many unknowns in front it and ughh that just makes us feel so uneasy. However, when you really think about it we make choices every single day that consists of unknown outcomes already so what’s the difference right? How will we ever know if something will work out if we don’t take the risk and do the thing?
There’s so much satisfaction in just trying. If it doesn’t work, don’t beat yourself up! Like any lesson in life, we learn how to fix it and try again, again and again until WE feel it’s right.
After I quit my 9 to 5 job in 2017, (which to me was the scariest thing ever) I finally felt in control of my life. Us humans are so powerful and have the power to do it all. We get to create the beautiful life we want to live. Never forget that!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For the first time in my life my career path feels GOOD. I’m doing more than one thing currently and I love that I love what I do. The hardest part with it all is getting it started and hoping people like what you do. I don’t beat myself up much because there is space and ro for each and everyone one of us. We’ll find our people and our support.
I started a lifestyle YouTube channel where I provide Local Nyc content, travel videos, health journey, etc. With that I received another opportunity, A video content creator gig with Newsbreak providing solely Local Nyc content (things to do, events, community, etc).
I also have an Etsy shop “MiraFloresxo” where I sell handmade body Aromatherapy products. I make Shower Steamers, Body oils, and sell self-love gift boxes that include everything you need to treat yourself to a day of relaxation and skin nourishment. It warms my heart knowing I can help others find a moment to themselves and encourage self-love.
Right now my path is going the way it is supposed to go, of course there are detours and slow moments but what life is perfect?
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to do some many different and random things. Like walk endlessly for blocks and blocks (you’d be surprised all you walk into and see). I love some good thrifting and flea markets, good food, cross the Brooklyn Bridge into Dumbo for some beautiful Manhattan skyline views. bottomless brunches, Art galleries, long walks, central park, Italian bakeries for a sweet treat, bottomless Brunches, ferry rides, museums, block parties, tourist traps, street food tour, and endless dancing in local bars.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m the kind of person who doesn’t ask for opinions about if I should do something and just take it upon myself to try it and then introduce it. I then receive so much support, love, and encouragement and it helps me to keep on shining.
My number one supporter though is my husband who has never let me walk any journey on my own and I am so incredibly thankful for him. I also have these incredible boss women who I have met on Instagram that mentor me without even knowing it and I am forever in debt to them. Fam & Friends for always showing love too.
