We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabel Soto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

I pursued an artistic career because I think is my purpose in life . I remember when I finished high school , everyone wanted to go to the university but I didn’t feel that was my call. I wanted to listen to my heart and I realized the best path for me was to study acting . I went to Cristina Rota in Madrid ( Penelope Cruz studied in this school ) , at the time I didn’t have any idea about acting techniques. It was a very powerful experience for me , because I learned a lot about myself, and it’s through myself and my emotions how I give life to the characters I have the pleasure to play. I continue my journey and went to study another techniques with Eduardo Recabarren , Fernando Piernas . After years of working as an actress in Spain , I had the need to expand my horizon and keep growing as an artist but I wasn’t sure how. It was 2016 , I never dreamed about Hollywood, I was only a girl from a little town close to Madrid , then my mother for first time in her life , asked me if I wanted go to LA to study acting and I said, of course! So I embraced this new wonderful adventure and had the honor to study with Elia Schneider at Stella Adler academy in Hollywood.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My path as an actress , wasn’t easy , Just like many of us. In my case the first barrier was my family , they didn’t want this career for me . Years later they had to accept it and they are very proud of my choices now . I appreciate David Trueba , he’s a genius in the Spanish entertainment industry, I worked with him in some of his TV projects like “ ¿Que fue de Jorge Sanz?” Serie , he wrote “Acierta y Gana”for actress Carla Nieto and Myself. He helped me grow as an actress and human being . . David Trueba is the brother of Fernando Trueba , academy winner for best international film BELLE EPOQUE .

When I moved to LA, I didn’t speak English as good as I do now , it was hard for me to improve my English and didn’t feel good enough to be staying here in LA. But then I booked roles and felt grateful for that, grateful to be staying in California. I was surprise I booked roles as a mother. I worked in the shortfilm “Across the border” by Alberto Carapia , the story about people who crossed the border from Mexico to the US , it was a learning experience for me , I think they are the real heroes . I also portrayed a mother at “ Reno” Film by Joce Lombera , Permiso by Emelin Vivar .

I keep taking risks in my life, I strongly believe ” You are the captain of your destiny”. therefore; I’m exciting to discover what the next chapter in my life will be like !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend , for example Marta Riesco, who is a journalist but also she is a complete artist! She would love LA . I would take her to hike the Hollywood sign trail and visit the Griffith Observatory , for lunch we could go to Lalas on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood  then we could go to Getty museum ( It’s a must in LA). The next day we could go to walk the Hollywood boulevard and visit the Dolby theater (where the Oscars take place) afterwards we would have a drink in Mama Shelter and of course we could go to have dinner to Amici in Beverly Hills and end in Wallys one of my favorite places in LA!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
