We had the good fortune of connecting with Ivotres Littles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ivotres, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
It’s hard for me to know whether to keep going or to give up. I’ve been through some horrific things and somehow, I managed to never give up. We all want to do our best in everything we do but it’s not without consequence. I often find myself exhausted and fatigue, because I didn’t want to give up. I didn’t want to acknowledge my failures. I know it’s interesting that I associated giving up to failure. But that’s how I’ve always seen it. So, I can never see giving up as an option.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other horror influencers is my ability to relate to so many around the world. I’ve always used my platform as a way to encourage and inspire people to do great things. To never give up on their dreams no matter how tough life gets. I was beaten, bullied, physically and sexually abused and I’m still working hard for my goals. Never give up! I’m excited to be living among other great horror influencers and meet extraordinary people. Getting to where I am today was not easy. I’ve been through a lot and still going through stuff. I’m not going to say I’ve overcome my challenges. You don’t really get over them. I think you find a way to cope and accept them. There are so many lessons I’ve learned along the way but the biggest one that stuck with me is – never believe someone will treat you the same respect as you treat them. That one bites hard but it’s true. What I want people to know about myself, brand and story is that success is never easy. That I’m a testament of pain and sorrow but I’m still able to rise to the top. I want my story to inspire the world – to become better than they were yesterday and make their life extraordinary.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Southern California, so there’s always great places to hangout. West Hollywood, Pasadena, Long Beach, Glendale, and Los Angeles always have great places for food and drinks. Eden on Brand in Pasadena is elegant and fun. The Abby in West Hollywood has some of the best nachos and drinks. Universal City Walk is always an adventure. Whatever you’re in mood for, Southern California has it all. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
2. There’s a lot of people that contributed to my upcoming success. I wouldn’t be here at this moment if it wasn’t for them. First, I want to thank my niece Tiasha Winston. She has been my biggest supporter and have always kept me laughing. If I needed encouragement, she’s the one I would call. Secondly, I have to acknowledge the wonderful group of David, Paul, Lisa, and Dylan. They’ve been a great help when I felt lost and unsure about important decisions. I also want to thank James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca. I’m forever grateful for their kindness and knowledge about the horror industry. Lastly, I want to thank Mario Macias for taking me to my very first comic convention and pushing me to challenge myself. Without these wonderful people in my life, I wouldn’t been able to see my true calling.
