Meet Jaclyn Winters | Owner of The Conscious Method. Certified Nutritionist and Wellness coach, as well as certified Yoga, Barre, Pilates and CPT.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaclyn Winters and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaclyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was to create a brand that helped people love, listen and honor their bodies. I have been teaching fitness, yoga and barre for over 10 years and the one thing that always separated me from other instructors or trainers is my cueing and obsession with proper alignment and mind/body connection. In fitness, we think “working out.” I wanted to create more of a “work in.” Understanding that truly loving yourself is in an inside job that radiates out. Being educated on proper alignment as you move will help you feel safe as you do your work, will help you see results faster because you are going to be active in more than one muscle group, and help you adhere to the program for a long period of time (let’s keep moving in our 80’s!). The mind/body connection component will teach you how to listen to how your body is feeling as you move. If you lose alignment or engagement, you will know to stop.. re-align.. re-engage.. then move. That’s why out motto at The Conscious Method is: Align. Engage. Then move.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets The Conscious Method apart from other brands are the alignment, cueing and the multiple options to help people find love for their bodies. Our goal is to also create a community feel and we offer workshops, in-studio, outdoor and Zoom classes. We know everyone awakens differently, so we have three main classes we offer: Conscious Barre (strength and flexibility), Conscious Yoga (Flexibility, mobility and breath). And Conscious Movement (Interval cardio). We also offer free mini classes to help those with busy schedules, and free meditations. Another unique add on, is our Conscious Coaching, which is for those looking for nutrition and wellness guidance.
I get most proud and excited hearing about clients success stories. Whether it’s hitting their weight goal, healing an injury or trauma, letting go of anxiety, or hitting personal goals.
I got to where I am today by always being a student. Whenever I would get too comfortable with a modality, I would sign-up for a new certification or add on to an existing one. Also, talking and truly listening to what worked and didn’t work for other business owners, ad truly knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are.
I want the world to know that know matter where you are on your self-love journey, you got this. Also, there are brands out there like The Conscious Method that are here if you need extra support. The “no pain, no gain” mindset no longer serves. The “love yourself, like you want to love others” is the new way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to visit I would take them to my favorite beaches in Malibu (Broad Beach, El Matador, etc). I’m also a big hiker so I would take them on some of my favorite hikes in Topanga, Temescal, Malibu, Solstice Canyons, and more!
Being a nutritionist, I’m a huge foodie! I also think LA has some of the best restaurants in the country. Some of my faves I would take to are: Geoffrey’s in Malibu.. Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon.. Gracias Madre in West Hollywood.. Nobu.. And Sugar Fish. Also, I would have to let them experience Erewhon!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Book of Love and Creation. by Paul Selig is what inspired my brand creation. There is a quote in the book: “Our world is a reflection of our collective consciousness.” I took that as if we don’t like the world we live, then it is up to us to shift inside ourselves, then share our gift/shift with the world to help the collective shift, as well.
