We had the good fortune of connecting with Jad Mallah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jad, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lessons my career as an actor taught me is that patience and commitment is key. we actors start excited with so much hopes of getting roles and then we get surprised when we get rejected and start questioning ourselves ” am i a good actor ? ” ” Am i that bad ? ” oh man i think im not capable of doing this ”

So some actors start to give up really fast because they are not used to be rejected or to tolerate the competition. its very normal to be rejected and when it happens, forget about it, and keep working on your acting and apply for another role and another and another, its not that you’re a bad actor, its just sometimes that someone looks more like the character the director or etc is imagining. Or their voice suits the character more or any hundreds of other reason but saying ” Im a very bad actor ” will do nothing but make you surrender.
So being patient and not giving up instantly and drown your confidence with negative judgement is very crucial for every actor when they audition or don’t get a call back.

So whenever you audition for a role, just throw it behind you, and continue your day without even thinking about it.
Stay committed to your craft as an actor no matter how many times you get rejected.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hi my names is Jad Mallah i’m from Lebanon and i was born on the 29th of july 1996, I speak English, French and Arabic Fluently I studied Business management back home, and My life changed to the best when i decide to pursue acting and do it as a career.

Having a Acting technique is one of the most crucial things an actor should have and i’m really proud to have one and i’m always excited to share with others because when i first started acting without a technique i was all over the place, don’t know where to start when i’m working on my character, the history, the body movement the voice, the choices my circumstances and etc but when I studied the Adler Technique, it gave me a huge boost of confidence of playing so many different characters because you know now from
Where to start and how to create and build this character in you as an actor.

I always wanted to be an actor, but i never had the courage to take this risk, so I started acting on my instagram account “ @Lemallah “ when i was still in my home country Lebanon, i started doing some comedy skits and pranks and when i started getting lot of positive feedbacks, it made me want to take it to the next level, so i did some researches and i started to read about having a technique or a method acting as an actor, i started to read about all these important names such as “ Stella Adler, Meisner, Strasberg and etc “
in 2019 I flew to the United States of America and I visited The Stella Adler academy on Hollywood Blvd and i fell in Love, learned alot and grew alot as an actor! It wasn’t easy and it will always be challenging, and that’s the beauty of it, the hard work is always required like athletes go to the gym to keep their shape and muscles healthy, acting is the same you always got to be reading, practicing in some acting workshops, classes, and you always gotta be auditioning and accepting the rejection and keep going like nothing happened, until you start getting accepted in roles and you build a good connection with producers, directors and actors and when you have a good acting technique and you are always connected to your character and your are so flexible to work with and you know your lines and your partners lines, and you listen to them and live in the moment, directors will always want you on their set. Whenever you get approved in a production, Work so hard and bring all the knowledge and techniques you know to this set. Nothing is better then a well prepared and flexible actor to work with! As for challenges I had so many challenges as a international student when i first came to the states, international students on a M-1 VISA are not allowed to work and earn money while their studying so it was hard financially, specially with the problems back home, have to pay rent, have to pay for the classes, got to audition so i have to pay for uber because i had no car, so that limited my auditions because sometimes it would be so expensive to go to the auditioning location and when covid started it made it even worse, so many students were ordered to go back home and i lost hope at first but then i tried everything i can to stay in the states and continue my education, and it worked, our classes became online so i was able to stay in the states and continue my education. So i would say, never give up on the things you love. There is always success and a bright journey ahead of you, if you stay committed to your work and be patient.

In my journey as an actor i learned alot about the industry from a very special person named ” Talaat Captan ” Mr Talaat is the CEO of Airhollywood the biggest aviation studio in Hollywood. Taught me alot about movies distribution, how to start a movie from scratch, and many other tips in the entertainment industry!

I want to say thank you to the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles, the place where I practice my acting craft and technique, amazing teachers and mentors, changed my whole point of view and idea of acting when i first started, and i recommend any actor professional, beginner or even the ones who have 0 idea about acting to join the academy and trust me you’ll learn alot and you’ll grown as an actor.
