We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Patteri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” – Tim Notke. This could not be more true! Those who ride simply on their gift without putting in work get surpassed every time. You cannot, especially in this industry cross your fingers and hope your talent gets you somewhere. Now there is a chance that happens but its a far less chance than if you were to put in the work to train and cultivate your gift sets. It’s easy to be lazy but the outcome of hard work and being persistent gives long term results, I’m beyond blessed to say that I had two parents who worked incredibly hard to get to where they are and thankfully they raised me with that same mindset. Regardless whether or not your family is supportive and hardworking, finding a group of supporters outside your family who help and and mentor you in your craft I believe is essential. However make sure you have the right people beside you because if you are not being pushed you are not exceeding in your talents you are simply staying stagnant. Always work hard and never settle for being the best in the room! If your’e the best in the room, find a different room! Be persistent and always push yourself or else the people that work hard to get to where you are with your natural ability, will surpass you everyday.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a singer, actress, dancer and model! I’ve been in this industry for as long as I can remember. I have been working professionally since age 9 where my first job not only landed me my first agency but also started that spark for the arts that never went away! It was not easy to get to where I am today. I’ve trained since I was 5 in all genres of dance and voice and acting and have worked for years to be able to build up my portfolio in every aspect of this industry I’m involved in. Overcoming challenges in this field is definitely a mental thing, especially because a lot of this job is hearing more no’s than yes’s. Fighting yourself and the negativity that your mind starts to throw at you is difficult but worth it once you hear that yes and remember how fulfilling it is to do what you do. Also remember that hearing yes doesn’t determine if your’e “really an artist or not.” Being an artist is not auditioning, it’s a result of an artistic ability, not a thing we are because a job told us we are an artist. Learning to love what you do is an essential part to this job or else you’d be miserable in the world of entertainment. Learn to love your work before you go into this industry. I once removed myself for a few years because it caused my mental health more harm than good. Something I took away from that was how good of a decision that was for me at the time, because I would not enjoy it as much now had I let myself resent it and eventually end up probably quitting. Something I want people to know about my brand is I really try to not take myself too seriously. I want people to listen to my music and videos and laugh, and hopefully relate to the message while you’re laughing at the irony! I released a song recently called “Throne” and I think that’s a perfect representation of what my music and brand incapsulates. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooo! Definitely Sunset Blvd. Thats my favorite spot in LA. I love walking over there and getting to see the music venues, coffee shops, real-estate and so many cool businesses that are mostly tied into entertainment! I would also say pop over to the beach, specifically Laguna or Malibu being two of my favorite spots. if you’re looking for a fun night out though I would go to WeHo since they have great nightlife! One more favorite of mine would probably be Korea Town. I love Korean food and they have some of best restaurants I’ve ever been too!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and my creative teams! Shoutout genuinely to my incredible family for always supporting me in everything I do and for being the example that hard work pays off! Also shoutout to my incredible agencies and music team. Daniel Hoff, The Bella Agency, Go 2 Talent and Kyle and Tana @ KB Recording Group. Without me teams I would not have been able to receive the opportunities I’ve had. Not only have they given me incredible job opportunities but they’ve helped cultivate and motivate me to work harder for myself and for them as well! I’m forever grateful to my support system and my teams of the most hardworking and kind individuals I’ve had apart of my team yet!
