Meet Jae “aVeganAndHer” Ramos | Content Creator & Professional Foodie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jae “aVeganAndHer” Ramos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jae “aVeganAndHer”, what do you attribute your success to?
Honesty and authenticity. I always tell people to not fake the funk and always be true to who they are and what they are doing in life. So when you see me rate food as “danky,” I truly use that word when determining if something is good. I actually hike a lot, so my outdoor content is natural and not just for a selfie or to be part of a challenge. When I travel, there’ll always be coverage of the food, hikes, and places we explored. And of course you can find me at various music festivals dancing my heart away. This is how I bring honest and authentic plant-based lifestyle content to my audience. The content creations gigs, the ads, the tastings, and the consulting all trickle in after. Each contract examined to make sure they fit my brand, and I don’t force myself to fit their brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My goal is to always transfer my emotions to my audience. I grew up making music, filming videos, and eventually received a BA with a quadruple emphasis in business with the sole purpose to use it to benefit my creative side. I got lost in making that 9-5 money by working in corporate America, then taking a position in Brazil, to then return to the States to work for non-profits and once I reached the “dream vegan job” that was secure, I noticed none of it was fulfilling. I was making millions in the name of the cause but my life wasn’t improving, my creativity was being sidelined. I decided that it’s OK to be your number one fan because you can still be humble while betting on yourself, and believing your vision is more secure than working at a place that will never love you the same you love it. Once you have faith in yourself, there’s nothing that can hold you back. I’m out to add color to veganism by sharing my culture and adventures.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is too easy because I’m a planner when it comes to trips. Many people forget about how much nature is around Los Angeles, or just hours away, so that would be high on my list.
These would be my must stops for food: El Concinero, Monty’s, Naughty Vegan Panda, Nic’s On Beverly, Tejuinos Los Reyes, and My Thai.
Going to a National Park is a must when visiting LA. Joshua Tree is two hours away and Yosemite is about 4 hours away. Each has many vegan options on the way or in the park. I’ll be sharing those soon on a new series as well as travel tips in LA from an LA native.
And if the Dodgers or Lakers are in town, you have to go see them. They are among the most iconic teams in the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The legendary @VeganFoodShare. He was the first person in the plant-based space that I became close to because of our musical taste. When you connect with a vegan beyond the food, then you know that, that person can be more than someone you just do foodie things with. He took me under his wing, told everyone they had to know about me, opened many doors, and still continues to share this platform so I can spread more of my adventures. When it comes to Veganism on social media, he is the pioneer.
