Hi James, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
A key habit that’s contributed to my success is staying resilient through failure. I’ve come to understand that losing isn’t the opposite of winning, but that it’s part of the journey to it. Each setback has taught me something new, and I believe the ability to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward is what ultimately leads to real success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a partner at New Tomorrow Music Group, a company built around putting artists first. We provide full support through distribution, publishing, touring, brand partnerships, and management. What sets us apart is our commitment to empowering artists to take control of their careers and build lasting legacies.
The journey hasn’t always been easy, but staying focused on relationships, transparency, and hard work has helped us overcome challenges. Our mission is to change the music industry by creating real opportunities and value for the artists we work with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Los Angeles for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience of some of my favorite spots. We’d start with meals at Hangry Moons and Naab Cafe, two places I love for their great vibes and amazing food. I’d take them to iPic Theatre for a comfortable, fun movie night. We’d also go hiking at Mandeville Canyon to take in the incredible views that show off the natural beauty of LA. And of course, a drive through the Bird Streets to check out the stunning multi-million-dollar homes and get a feel for the luxury side of the city. It’s the perfect mix of great food, outdoor adventure, and iconic LA sights.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my father, the person who showed me what true strength, sacrifice, and work ethic look like. He raised me, my three siblings, and four of our cousins under one roof, doing whatever it took to make sure we had a stable home and a shot at a better future. He worked two jobs, barely slept more than a few hours a night, and put all of our needs before his own dreams without ever complaining. Watching him do the impossible every day taught me that excuses don’t build legacies, that discipline, grit, and love do. He’s the hardest working man I know, and I carry his example with me in everything I do.
