We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Knee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
Where do I want to be by the end of my career? As a Global Wine Communicator, Television Presenter, and Travel Experiences Host, my vision is multifaceted. I aspire to combine bespoke travel experiences with a captivating wine travel show, where I not only share my passion for wine and travel but also motivate others to live their best lives through storytelling. The wine industry, with its rich tapestry of narratives about wine, winemakers, and regions, has shaped my journey profoundly. My goal is not just to share these stories but to teach the art of storytelling, inspiring others to communicate effectively and authentically.
My career began with a foundation in Communications and Film & Television from the University of Miami, leading me to arts marketing and content creation for What’s Up Miami. This role sharpened my skills in presentations, storytelling, and brand communication, preparing me for my current path.
Since 2017, I’ve dedicated myself to building the Petite Wine Traveler brand, earning certifications such as Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), WSET Certified, and Spanish Wine Scholar. I’ve judged prestigious international wine competitions, hosted exclusive travel events, and recently highlighted Rioja wines through the Seattle International Film Festival premiere of “Rioja: Land of the Thousand Wines,” followed by a memorable tasting event. These experiences have fueled my passion for combining wine, travel, and storytelling on a global stage.
Looking forward, I envision continuing to host bespoke travel events and deliver lectures worldwide, focusing on the intersection of wine, travel, and authentic storytelling. Public speaking and sharing experiences lie at the heart of my vision, where I aim to entertain and motivate others to leverage storytelling to enrich their brands, careers, and personal lives. Genuine connections and compelling narratives are pivotal in engaging audiences and leaving a lasting impact.
I am ready to embark on the next chapter, bringing together the worlds of wine and storytelling to create unforgettable experiences for audiences worldwide. Lights, camera, action: here’s to the exciting journey ahead in the world of wine and storytelling. Cheers to the future!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey of passion and perseverance. What sets me apart is my blend of expertise in wine and storytelling. I’ve cultivated a deep understanding of wine as a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), WSET Certified, Spanish Wine Scholar, and more. I’ve also leveraged my background in arts marketing from my time at What’s Up Miami to create compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
I’m most proud of launching my Petite Wine Traveler brand in 2017, through which I’ve judged international wine competitions, hosted bespoke travel events, and shared my love for wine through education and writing. It hasn’t always been easy; navigating the wine industry requires constant learning and adaptability. Overcoming challenges involved staying curious, building strong relationships, and consistently delivering value.
One key lesson I’ve learned is the power of authentic storytelling in engaging and connecting with audiences. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than just wine; it’s about creating unforgettable experiences and inspiring others through the stories we tell.
