We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamila Hache and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamila, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always loved expressing myself through art, in all forms and shapes. Since a young age, I joined a dancing studio, a music conservatory and some acting classes. During my spare time I loved drawing and coloring (however, this is not my forté). Why did I pursue an artistic career? I believe it’s because is the best way I know to communicate how I feel, who I am and my way to help others and contribute to the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an actress and singer from Venezuela based in LA. At the moment, I’m proud of my new single “Contra el Suelo” and the video I created for it in middle of the pandemic last year. The song is Available in all platforms and the video is on my YouTube VEVO channel, “Jamila Hache VEVO.” I believe what sets apart from others is that I push for what I want and if no one is hiring me, I hire myself, I create a project and work on it until it gets completed, I do not like to start and not finish something. To get to where I am today professionally, I have not stopped working, looking or creating my next opportunity… and no, it’s not easy… But, I take one day at a time and ignore what doesn’t serve me. Along the way I’ve learned that if I don’t help myself, no one will come to help me. I have also learned that discipline, determination and professionalism kills talent. I want the world to know that as much as I am a go getter and very goal driven; I’m also full of insecurities. I’m afraid of saying the “wrong” thing and hurting people. I second guess myself, I want to make my parents and family proud, I look for validation a lot of times and I’m very vulnerable… In fact, sharing this right now, is making me feel exposed but after all, this is a part of what being human is about, isn’t it?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Uhh!! I love this question! If my best friend comes to LA I would take her to a good breakfast at République followed by a drive along the PCH, get to Malibu, visit a winery there, come back to LA, stop for some delicious food at K-town (too many good places there) or Sawtelle Blvd, could be Tsujita, Marugame Udon or ROC. I would make her get some boba from “It’s Boba Time.” Drive to Palos Verdes for more gorgeous views, hike around their trails and catch the sunset there. Drive back to LA, get some SugarFish and finish the day at Mulholland drive taking a glance at the city from up above. Before the Pandemic there was an AMAZING show around Downtown area. It’s the Best Musical Experience I’ve had/seen. The show is called “CAGES” I would DEFINITELY recommend watching the show and living the experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s a long list of people that I look up to, I wish I could mention them all… But some of the most important people that have inspire me (aside from my parents and brother) are; Oriana Ramirez (an incredible soul full of wisdom and light, Astrologist) @solsunoflove Grecia Salamon (one of the strongest and most generous people I’ve come across, TV Host, Actress) @gresalamon Mike Myles (my incredible mentor and friend, Executive Producer, Producer) Daniela Genie (one of the smartest and youngest people I know in the marketing app industry) @danielagenie Sylvia Saenzz (an amazing actress and friend, full of life, laughs and love) @sylviasaenzz Bruno Romano (an incredible music producer and friend) @brunoromano Natalia Bilbao (an unstoppable badass TV Host, Actress) @Natalia_bilbao Daniel Rojas (The MOST talented Music Composer and musician I’ve ever met) @drojasmusic Gianinni Semedo Moreira (One of the most talented men I have ever met, director, editor, dancer and a PRO at all he does) @gianinni A book that change my perspective and I highly recommend to all artists out there: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert A quote by Theodore Roosevelt that says: “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.” The title of an amazing book by Brené Brown “Daring Greatly” -Just the title, inspires me to push for the next thing. An organization that I want to give a shout to: CESD for believing in me and having the best agents I have come across. The list can go on and on and on-
