Meet Jammy | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jammy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jammy, how do you define success?
The older I get the more I’m starting to redefine my definition of success. When I was younger I would narrow my version of my success to one individual goal, like getting a specific car, or a million streams. Now I see success as leaving a permanent impact on the world, and adding something different to it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My first introduction to singing was being in musicals when I was 5, since then I’ve always loved being on stage. I always dreamed of writing my own songs to perform, & when I was 19 I put my first project out. I fell in love with making music. After releasing my first project I gained a lot of traction from doing local art parties. My sound didn’t fit next to most of the music that was coming out from other Vallejo artist. I had to create my own community within the Vallejo, to continually grow. I’ve been throwing small secret location listening parties for my music for a while now. My first one was in a secret cave in SF. Currently I’m gearing up to drop some more music. I’m really excited to show everyone my new sound!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I grew up in American Canyon\Vallejo, which is primarily known for our cultural diversity.
One of the most essential restaurants in the V to check out is House Of Soul, It’s the best soul food out here.
If you’re ever in Vallejo its imperative to check out Seafood City, and Discovery Kingdom.
There’s a new brewery on Mare Island near Vallejo called Coal Shed that’s really beautiful.
American Canyon is special because of all the hiking trails, so you’d day or two to hike!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m apart of a collective called Doozy, which features BxRod, Hokage Simon, Bzar, Marcel Angelo and Dakota Lim. We all collaborate on videos and music together. It makes creating music way more fun. It’s hard to imagine getting into art without them.
