We had the good fortune of connecting with Jane Kim Estantino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jane, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
While Pink Moon Atelier is a literal store front that sells cute, pastel apparel, collectibles, art and other goodies; my hope is that every person that walks into my store walks out feeling a little bit happier!

Through starting Pink Moon Atelier, I have found my own healing & self love. It is honestly one of the most empowering feelings in the world and I wish everyone could experience it. I firmly feel that if everyone can be kinder to themselves and love themselves a little bit more each day the world would truly be a better place.

In the more literal sense – I love supporting the artist/creator community through all means possible, such as purchasing wholesale from small creators/artists, hosting pop-ups, art shows, workshops, & events. I love the arts and creative community and want to give back as much as I can through Pink Moon Atelier.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pink Moon Atelier is a boutique that curates pastel, kawaii accessories, collectibles, and inclusive-sized apparel.

We also host a variety of events such as group art shows, pop-ups with a focus on featuring other small creators and makers, and soon we’ll have workshops as well!

Pink Moon Atelier was something I was working towards all my life, it just didn’t have an official name or location until after being diagnosed & beating breast cancer (now in remission, 2yrs!) during the pandemic.

After going through something like cancer, I realized I wasn’t living for me and I was tired of it. So with the help of my loved ones and amazing friends, I was able to officially open the doors to Pink Moon Atelier in March of 2022!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, we would definitely go to Disneyland! It’s just a big fun place to be a kid and I just really enjoy going there. We would chat and catch up and be silly while waiting in line for rides, and eat soft serve at DCA because they have the best soft serve.

Other than that, I image I would spend a lot of my time eating with my bestie-

For some delicious hand rolls, we would go to Kazunori.
For a more chill, laid-back time, I’d take them to Guildhall Bar. It’s a place great for nerds like me to be surrounded by like-minded nerds! They have board games and other various streams playing on the big screens!
We’d also chow down on some KBBQ at Brothers BBQ & then grab some milk tea from Onezo Boba.

I’d also take them to the museums such as Getty, and visit other places like Sawtelle and Little Tokyo!

And of course, we’d hang out at my store! 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh gosh – I’ll try to keep this short! (LOL)

Rico – my eternal life partner, my husband, who is always a staunch supporter of all my crazy ideas.
Steph – my platonic life partner, my bestie, who is always ready to go do these crazy ideas with me, but also tells me when my crazy ideas are just crazy!

I have a great group/circle of friends who actively go out of their way to help me with so many things- like modeling product photos for my website; sharing my social media posts & events, interacting with them! (You think I don’t notice but I do!!!😘)

Of course I would not be able to also do this without the artists and small creators! Without the artists I would not be able to have these amazing art shows that showcase brilliant ingenuity. And I am always grateful to small creators have graciously hosted pop-ups in my store!

To top it off, I’m so lucky to work with apparel companies that believe in the same ideologies as I do when it comes to fashion – it’s for everyone; regardless of size or shape! I only bring in apparel that, at the bare minimum, carry up to 3X, but I do carry up to size 5X!

Lastly, to the customers/followers – I am eternally grateful that not only do they find my store cute, but they find solace and safety in my shop – a place they belong.

Without all of these people in my life, I would not be where I am today!
