Hi JANET, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“THE PEOPLE WILL COME AND GO BUT THE VISION WILL ALAYS REMAIN RELEVANT”~SASSIE

That simply means starting out you have people who say they are ride or die or SSSC for life, and then for whatever reason all of a sudden boom they are gone. Some with no notice and others with the courtesy enough to leave the organization gracefully. What I mean by his quote is that no matter what, whoever comes or goes this vision will always continue to move forward because it was God given.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work as Founder and President of Sassie’s Sisterhood consists of many many things. We are so involved in our community and our members. We genuinely care for our sisters and continue to break barriers that show others that women can work together without crisis nor conflicts. We are constantly building strong relationships with our sisters and share a genuine connection as close as family in some instances. Many things set us apart from other social clubs. Usually when you hear the name social club a lot of people think of motorcycle clubs and the social clubs being the wives or girlfriends but we are totally different. We are in no way affiliated to any motorcycle clubs. Our social club is an organization completely to share and enjoy life with other ladies from all nationalities and common goals. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for women and sharing life experiences, travelling, shopping, community building, volunteering while working and contributing to our community through serving in all aspects.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In spite of all the the things that Los Angeles brings there are some activities that you just must do. For instance, you Absolutely have to take all out of towners to The Hollywood Walk of Fame. That is one place that I find all people asking to go visit while they are in town especially the ones that have never visited here before. And by the time you walk through and visit all of those stars and pop photos a thousand times you will be ready to get somewhere and relax. A visit to the famous Roscoe’s chicken & waffle is in order. I must have the #9 The Obama Special. A day at the beach is always an adventure and everyone want to go to Venice Beach or Santa Monica Pier. The Pier offers a lot if you are looking for entertainment and god restaurants. Next day we will venture off to Universal City walk and enjoy the food and shops that they have there. The street performers are very fun to watch as well. Los Angeles is a trend setting global metropolis with a fascinating history and a rich cultural heritage. Next we will head over to see the space shuttle Endeavour. After all this is the city that’s home to 300 days of sunshine a year. smile. So there is plenty to do and see. A trip to Disneyland is a for sure fun day out as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If it were not for my Mother Ms. Lydia Douglas who migrated to the United States from Belize, Central America and her raising my siblings and I as a single parent showing me that any obstacle can be overcome with hard work and perseverance. She has encouraged me all of my life and has supported my organization in every way possible. She deserves her flowers and I live my life to give them to her always. would not be in the position of leadership that I currently am in if it were not for her.
