Meet Jasmine Vital | Actor, Model, Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Vital and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I decided to pursue a creative career because I wanted the freedom to live life on my own terms. I wanted to be free to go at my own pace, in my own lane. I’ve never been one to live life according to others peoples limitations, I’ve always had big dreams. When I was a kid I was never inspired to pick a normal career like everyone else, it just didn’t feel big enough. Now, as an adult if I wasn’t a creative I honestly can’t think of anything else I would be doing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So, I grew up being a very multifaceted person. I’ve always been into different creative facets and usually very talented at anything I put my mind to. In this moment I am most proud of how far I’ve come. When you come from the bottom the only way to go is to the top, I live by that. I am most excited about the woman I’m becoming. Every new level I reach I find that I’m challenged to become a new version of myself. It sounds scary but it’s actually rewarding to know that you’re always gonna get better, always gonna get stronger. I started off my journey in LA as a tv/film makeup artist and shortly after getting more industry experience I realized that I didn’t want to play small anymore and decided I was going to fulfill all of my dreams as a model and actor. My transition to Los Angeles three years ago was the hardest thing I’ve done thus far in my life. I was faced with so many trials and moments of resistance I can honestly say there were times I didn’t think I was going to make it. When I left my hometown of Lake Charles, La I knew there was no backup plan, I gave myself no other option than to “sink or swim” and here I am today thriving in the city of angels. Along the way I’ve learned that you have to know your purpose and you have to know why you’re here because if you don’t those dark moments will consume you. You don’t have to always have everything figured out but you definitely need a plan and course of action to stay focused on. Also, always remember to bet on yourself! I really want the world to know that I’m just a small town girl that dreamed big and went after everything she put her mind to regardless of my circumstances. I want people to look at my journey and my story and feel inspired to dream and to dream BIG at that. My life is proof that NOTHING is impossible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anytime my friends are in town I feel obligated to show them the highlights of the city. A week trip with me in LA would include a few hiking spots overlooking the city (Runyon Canyon, Culver City stairs, the Griffith, etc). A drive along the Malibu coast stopping off to Santa Monica Pier for some food then to Venice beach for a little art and culture. I love taking people to see the city overlook at the Griffith observatory at night, it’s truly magical. Then I would take them to a few stable restaurants in LA like… Roscoes chicken and waffles, Nobu Malibu, Catch LA, TAO Hollywood, bluJam Cafe’, Joey DTLA to name a few. Then I’d take them to Hollywood studios for a little fun to finish off the trip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to thank everyone individually but since its so many I just want to thank every beautiful spirit that has helped me in some way shape or form on my journey here in Los Angeles. There were many times I almost lost myself and fell short of my purpose but each time there was an angel to help me further along my path. For those people I am forever grateful and indebted to.
