We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Kritzberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was young, I’ve always had a passion for filmmaking. It all started with a Flip Video camcorder and iMovie in 2009. Creating short films, trailers, and travel vlogs sparked my creativity which eventually grew my interest into pursuing a 4 year film program in high school, to then a Bachelors Degree of the Arts (Television Production), to now owning and operating a successful, full-time video production and marketing company, JKreative Media Team, Intl. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be able to wake up everyday, pick up a camera, work with people in all industries, and creatively produce content; but, that is exactly what I am doing! The best part of it all? None of it feels like work and I am so fortunate to have been able to find a career in something I love doing at such a young age. The feeling of nailing a creative shot, piecing the content together like a puzzle, delivering it to my clients, and hearing their words of excitement is something that will never get old.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although I work in all industries and special events, one of my big niche industries I work closely with is real estate. As a young child, I had a strong interest in architecture and design and you would usually find me drawing homes with a detailed floor plan. That is why I just love working with realtors because I get to blend my passion of filmmaking with the interest in architecture and interior design. However, we’re not making plain old boring house walkthroughs here at JKreative Media Team, Intl. We like to have fun with our productions and we think outside the box. We like to create movies that tell a story.

For example, in JKreative Media Team’s produced short film, “A Portal into the Unknown,” we showcased a real estate couple transporting through a portal into elegance. Their boring clothes – now dressed to the nines. Their truck – now an Aston Martin. Their life – now elegant. Through this unique and strategic short film, my clients were able to sell their 5 million dollar Calabasas listing only 3 days after the film went live. These success stories have been seen throughout most, if not all of my clients in many unique industries.

However, this success was not always easy. Starting out in this career, there were definitely some downfalls. Clients who did not treat me respectfully, learning new equipment and ignorant on how to operate properly, and agreeing to productions that were way above my league were all learning curves that I eventually overcame as I became a professional. Today, I know my talents, I know my worth, and I know that I can create a badass video for your business that will result in growth.

Our approach is simple. We capture each aspect about your business or special event closely and artistically, creating an authentic portrayal of what your customers can expect or how the event happened! We don’t want to turn your business or event into a movie set. Instead, we will meticulously plan our time in a delicate way that harbors a joyful and productive experience, not overwhelming chaos. With our vision, we will capture the beauty of your business or event.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I definitely know a thing or two when it comes to the best hotspots in town. In fact, I am usually the one recommending these places to film at with my clients. Also being a huge foodie, I know the best spots, whether it’s the low-key hole in the wall, Rincome Thai, in Northridge, to the Beverly Hills staple, Matsuhia, you can count on me to show you the best food spots.

This question relates to me as I recently had my cousin stay with us and planned a whole week itinerary. Here are some of the things we did:

We dined at Fig Tree Venice, we paddle boarded around the Malibu Pier, we got drinks at Malibu Farm, we shopped at Santee Alley, we were entertained at the Century City Mall, we vacationed in Santa Barbara, we thrifted at the Melrose Flea Market, we hiked in the Palisades, we searched for celebrities in Rodeo, we visited family in Calabasas, and we dined a bit more at the Grove. I think I did a pretty good job showing her LA 😉

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of my entrepreneurial parents. When COVID first hit, I was laid off of my job, discouraged, and unmotivated to do anything. My parents helped me out of that low and pushed me to start a career in video production and marketing. They encouraged me, supported me, and mentored me into building a production company only 3 weeks later. With the support of them + friends and colleagues in the same industry, I have been able to build up my business to a full-time career that is growing into hiring new employees in 2023. As they say, there is no “I” in “TEAM” and I thank my team for helping me become successful… I named my business JKreative Media TEAM, after all!
