We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Krymis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As we all find ourselves with our nose more and more glued to our little screens it has become more imoportant for all of us to maintain and foster genuine human connection. The local bar, pub, watering hole has been providing a place for that for forever. My goal with Mic’s bar was to bring back the truly “local” bar. A place in LA where you are safe, where you can be yourself and meet good, genuine people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am both a bar owner – I have opened 13 bar and restaurants is the greater LA market. I currently have two Mic’s and Schmitty’s bars – both in West Hollywood.
and an actor – I recently wrapped my very first lead in a feature film called Ice Apacolypse and you cam find me o TV as The Steemer on the Stanley Steemer campaign.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question. I always insist that visitors embrace the amazing nature around LA and Souther California. Ok, sure – check out the strip, Hollywood Blvd and hit the fancy bars, restaurants and lounges and hopefully do a little celebrity spotting… BUT… wow… they need to check out the beauty that nature provides us here…The beach, Griffith Park, Joshua Tree, Big Bear… What a lovely little corner of the world we are lucky enough to live in.
