Meet Jay | Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
There are many reasons why I chose to pursue a career in music. I’ve always been a creative at heart for as long as I could remember, from drawing, culinary arts, graphic design, poetry.
I find that I’m most happy when I’m able to express myself artistically.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s always hard for me to talk about myself/art haha only because verbal communication has never been my strong suit, thats why I chose to express myself audibly and visually.

So far where I’m at today in terms of my career, is due in large part to my determination to never give up and push myself whenever I feel self doubt creeping up in my mind, or insecurities telling me I can’t do something. Which is never easy for anyone on the path to self improvement. Alot of the challenges I’ve faced, were battles within myself that I faced alone, it took alot of self encouragement and reminding myself I am good enough, and that I do deserve whatever it is I set out to do and be successful.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is if you always put off what you could’ve done today for tomorrow, then you will always be left wondering what if.
I want everyone reading this to know that through my music as I continue to grow, you are listening to a person who against much adversity has grown, matured and changed his way of thinking…and turned alot of negatives into positives, has told himself yes I can instead of no, maybe that’s not for me.
That’s what I want the people listening to the music I create to know, my story is a story of success and personal growth.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been in contact with many individuals since the start of my journey. I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from and share knowledge with most of them. The ones that really stand out in my mind are westlyfe, young sagg, and ardy.
These 3, I feel have had helped the most in molding and shaping the way I view and listen to music, as well as sharing their perspective on life in general
