Meet Jayzon Jenkins | Independent Artist/Label Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayzon Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayzon, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Be in my son’s life because he already has to deal with his mom not wanting to be on his life like she claims

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Jayzon J makes music for the open minded and also writes about life. So that would make the music relatable because we’re all connected through emotion.

But I first got into making music back in my senior year of high school in 2011. My big brother Jah asked me to write a rap in my next class….even though I have no idea how to do it lol. So I write the rap and gave it to my bro to read and he got too excited!! I listened to alot of music since being alive so I somewhat got the concept of it.

After starting to write little songs in school, I got more into because I started to enjoy it more. I started to love the process. That’s when I got my first USB condenser mic and I put Audacity and learned how to record myself.

Since then, I’ve upgraded my equipment, made a couple of albums, eps, and videos. I’ve performed in Arkansas & California.

Now I have my own independent record label “Black Flame Muzik LLC”

The struggles that I’ve had during this whole time was gaining attention and really nobody paid attention to anything I was doing. I learned that you have to make people see you or they will just ignore you with no hesitation.

I actually learned alot from my time of being an artist from wasting time & money on trying to work with the wrong people. Making the wrong connections……never again. But I’m getting better at networking. Besides the bad connections, I’ve made some good connections and also some good friends.

I want everyone to know that Jayzon J will be around forever!! I’m not going anywhere!! I want to spread Peace & Love. Music is my therapy and I want everyone to know me.

I really wanna thank my big bro Jah because if it wasn’t for him, I never would’ve gotten into making music. So he gets the biggest thanks.
