We had the good fortune of connecting with Jean Von Harlow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jean, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was all over the place but I remember one of the top reasons why I wanted to start my own business was to make opportunities for me happen on my own timeline while also building my confidence and helping my family build a better life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t know if anything starts easy in this life but personally, this was far from easy. Aside from my ever constant anxiety and doubt of my self overall, my life was a big mess in the past and very unstable and I was always searching for the right things but in the wrong places. The short answer of me overcoming, was learning how to be stronger on my own..before I can help anyone else and live a life of happiness for me and whoever I wanted close to me.
I want the world to know Legends, Icons and everyone you might idolize or consider your hero’s aren’t always born to be..they are made and grew and continue to GROW into their person and what they choose to share to everyone is some of their most precious works! I want to one day be considered like some of the best Legendary people who created a better world for anyone willing to see a different side of life to accomplish bigger things and a happier life!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This seems like a hard question to answer since I feel like I don’t know too many places but to name some good ones one of the best places to eat near my current home location would be Koi Thai, Orchid Thai, El Pescador, Guadalajara Grill, Daphne’s Greek food, Dim Sum spots in Monterey Park, Portos Cafe, Rad Coffee, Coffinated Coffee, El Torito,..to name a few. And one of my top spots for drinks and hanging out are Lazy Dog, and some of the best bars in Monrovia, Cup of Cha, Merengue Bakery, 7 Leaves, and Tonys Donuts. Redondo and Huntington beaches are some of my favorite beach spots as well as Solvang for a mini road trip and San Diego.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to firstly thank my wonderful partner who helps me create and works behind the scenes fully supporting my buisness and some of the most influential and legends of the past/present: 1950s era of artists and designers to Kat Von D and Leafar Seyer, Malice, and all the vendors who genuinely support each other!
