We had the good fortune of connecting with JENN ROSADO and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JENN, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an actress, but in the process of taking many classes, and dedicating my life to it, I realized that it is an expensive thing to do, if you want to succeed in the industry. Then, I thought that I needed something else to be able to earn money for my living and my career. I always hated having a boss, so I thought that I could only do it by having my own business. I’m licensed in real estate in the state of Florida and California. Still, as you know this business is competitive as well as the entertainment industry. So, I thought, that’s it! I will open my own accounting/tax preparation company since it is something that will always have demand. Plus, as you know the tax preparation business goes from January until April which is amazing because I will have the rest of the year to focus on my acting and real estate career. I was afraid before starting Pintax Services, which is the name of my company, but I made the best decision because since 2018 I have been able to grow and have economic stability with my business. More than that, I have now piece of mind doing what I really love and am passionate about which is acting !

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Around my friends, I was the only one or maybe the second one who moved to another country having 19 years old which was exciting. However, it was not easy at all leaving all of my family behind, and trying to find a job without speaking any English in Miami, FL. Speaking of, it took 3 years of my life studying just English to be able to finish my career at the University. That’s how I overcome that challenge which was the biggest one at that moment. Many restaurants kicked me out because of my English, then, I got the opportunity to work in a Peruvian restaurant called Ceviche 105, which gave me the experience and lessons that I needed to have the mentality that I have nowadays. It was really tough working there, and I cry too many days because I was not happy at all, and I was doing that just to pay my bills. Watching my boss, I decided that I wanted to have my own business so I could focus on my acting career. I got my two real estate licenses, and I opened up PINTAX SERVICES my own business where I have been able to help many people with their tax returns and personal finances. It has given me the pleasure to have a lot of free time! Then, I decided that Miami was not the place for me anymore, so I moved to Los Angeles, and I am guessing you are thinking about my business, what did I do with it? The good thing about it is that I can work from any part of the USA, and do taxes for anyone no matter where they live. Los Angeles is the best place to follow my acting career, and when I got accepted to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, I was taught so much stuff about the industry and my career that I realized that Los Angeles is the place to be. Many people back then will say, Los Angeles is the worst place to follow an acting career because there is too much competition, but I never heard them, because no matter where you at this career will always have competition. If you don’t make the best out of it, study, and have your plan b to pay bills, you will survive. Thank God I have survived in this career thanks to my business which has helped me financially.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I have a visit I would have a full day LA itinerary for them. First, I will take them to Runyon Canyon for the first time to see the sunrise in the morning. After that, I will take them to Superba Food + Bread Hollywood to have breakfast, and walk around the Walk of Fame. Then, I would take them to Open Source Organics to have the best Acai in town. Of course, after this we will need some rest and then lunch at Pink’s Hot Dog, they won’t regret having one of these. Finally, I would take my visit to the Pacific Coast Highway to see all the beaches, and then finish at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier to see the sunset and have some dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. If they would stay longer, I would show them Studio City and all the tours, especially, the Warner Bros studio tour. Park la Brea, is a park that I will take them to as well, as the Griffith Observatory. Another great place to brunch is The Waffle on Sunset Blvd.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents are the main people who will always thank me for their support since I decided to move from my country. However, I would love to thank Ruben Morales for teaching me how to take risks and inspiring me to not give up on my career as an actress. Eiza Gonzalez is a latin actress who I have followed from the beginning and she was the one who showed me that this career was possible to follow here in Los Angeles. Plus, she is my main role and I admire every advise that she gives in her interviews.
