We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Noelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenna, how do you think about risk?
I view risk as an essential part of what I do. To be an artist and grow creatively, you have to be willing to step outside of your comfort zone. For every risk I’ve taken, there’s been an equal, if not greater, reward to be had. Whether it was stepping on stage in front of a new audience, moving across the country, or simply releasing music; I’ve done nothing but gain from taking risks.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of the music I was able to release in 2020. Last year was a difficult year for everyone so I’m grateful that despite that, I was able to share my music and push myself creatively. I’ve been featuring on tracks since 2013, but I’m just now stepping out as a solo artist. I’ve had to grow a lot as a person and learn to be patient with the process. The biggest battle for me has been overcoming negative thoughts and trusting my instincts.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my best friends came to town, we’d likely be spending a lot of time outdoors. L.A. has so much natural beauty to it that I would want to give them a chance to soak it up. We’d do yoga at Venice beach, go hiking in the palisades, have a picnic at Kenneth-Hahn… when it’s safe to be indoors around people again, I would want to take them bar-hopping in downtown or somewhere near Echo Park. Hopefully, we could also take advantage of the amazing restaurants in Historic Filipinotown, Culver City, and even catch a live show or two in Highland Park. I can’t wait to visit art galleries like the MOCA and Hauser & Wirth again…
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my momma. She is my biggest supporter and cheerleader.
