We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Danielle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My business was created by accident as a result of turning 30 and wanting to make the most of life after the pandemic. I made a vow to myself that if I survived the pandemic. I would cherish life and see the world even if I had to do so by myself. After taking my first solo cruise in 2021, I mustered up the courage to share my experience on YouTube and Instagram and from there, my brand was formed. Women began asking me how to build the confidence to travel alone and I would share tips and talk about my entire experience in my vlogs. This then led to me hosting group trips, offering coaching in social media marketing as well as working with brands as an influencer to share my experience with their products. Owning a business has always been my dream but I never would’ve imagined I’d be doing the things I’m doing now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although my business is still developing and very new, I am proud of being at this point. My first solo trip was taken out of desperation and in hopes of finding some level of happiness. I am most proud that I was able to fight to find something that made me love and appreciate life and that I’ve been able to encourage other women to do the same. I am honestly very shy and self-conscious so every day, I’m amazed that I’m able to have the impact on others that I have. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to trust yourself and never give up on trying to spread your message. As a “public figure” on social media, I’ve been exposed to negative comments and it’s sometimes difficult. What keeps me going is the messages I receive from women who have taken trips that have literally changed their lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA has a special place in my heart because it was the location of what I consider to be my first “real” solo trip. I had always dreamed of visiting the city but was afraid it was too large and different from what I was familiar with in Atlanta and Memphis. Once I experienced the cool air and beautiful beaches, I felt inspired to start exploring further including cruising.

I now feel LA is the perfect beginner solo location because it’s on a number of people’s bucket list. LA is such a huge part of our culture and many people (including myself) think that a visit is unattainable and only have a skewed view from television.

As far as my first visit, I booked a hotel in the LAX/Hawthhorne area so I could be close to the airport and not have to drive as far to reach multiple attractions. This turned out to be an amazing choice because I was near Santa Monica Pier and experience the beach firsthand. I highly recommend a stay there. If I were planning a first time trip for someone else, I’d of recommend seeing the Hollywood sign and spending a day doing a hop on and off bus tour to see a number of tourist attractions.

My favorite restaurant I experienced was Crustacean in Beverly Hills. Despite it being four years since my visit and going on 14 solo cruises, I still believe the garlic noodles with chicken is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to send a shoutout to my parents Errol & Tammy Rivers. When I first told them I wanted to quit my job and begin the journey of entrepreneurship, they were 100% supportive and I never take for granted that not everyone has that type of support. My parents have always made sacrifices so I can attempt to life the life of my dreams. Although we grew up in totally different time periods, they truly seek to understand my wants and vision.
