We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Deveau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
In this time of profound change on personal and collective levels, the energy can feel quite intense and confusing. It’s important we find ways to calm & soothe our emotions and mental states. A sound bath is an opportunity to create some space for inner peace, balance and healing, and to help us clear disturbances and blocks, so we have room for what we would like to bring in. By releasing and letting go we become a clear channel for our divine purpose and manifest our intentions in a flow state of alignment rather than struggle.

What should our readers know about your business?
My partner Seth Misterka and I offer Sound Baths as Dynasty Electrik. During this past year, we’ve needed to rework our entire business model, like so many others. We’ve transitioned from live in-person events to an entirely online offering. We started on Facebook and Instagram, then moved to Zoom and YouTube. Finding ways to capture the resonant frequencies of crystal bowls and translate them into a high quality experience through various digital platforms, had been quite a journey. During this process, we experimented with different audio equipment and were required to learn video and audio broadcasting software systems. We now offer a very successful Livestream, every Friday night on YouTube, as well as corporate private Zoom events and individual sound healing sessions.

In 2012, we met Master Energy Practitioner, Lisa Ishwari Murphy, who initiated us into the practice of Svaha Yoga, a Shamanic energy technique. We’ve been creating sound healing music and offering sound baths ever since. We believe the vibrational power of sound has the ability to transport the listener to a state of deep meditation and relaxation where the chakras are balanced and the energetic body is harmonized.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When the pandemic began, we moved from Venice Beach, CA to our cabin in the mountains, 90 minutes outside of LA. Over the past few years, we’ve hosted a number of nature and sound healing retreats in this beautiful space we call Mile High Retreat. It’s such a unique environment, high in a magical cloud forest surrounded by desert. Our cabin borders an old growth forest of enormous cedar and pine trees, an ancient refuge for a Native American tribe called People of the Pines. This protected land of beautiful waterfalls, mountains and valleys, is nearby beautiful hot springs and giant desert boulders. Palm Springs and Joshua Tree are 1 hour away.
